The BMW Hill double body case was the worst juvenile homicide in Hong Kong in the 1980s.
On 20 April 1985, a British couple attending the Hong Kong Island School of British Children: Kenneth McBride and Nicola Myers disappeared after travelling to Saixi Lake Park in North Point. The police remained clueless for more than six months after the crime, and it is said that a president of the company where Kenneth's father worked at the time had anonymously hung half a million yuan to help the police solve the case. In the end, the police received a report from the informant, who overheard the main criminal in the case, Peng Xinyi, bragging to a friend that he had killed a "ghost boy", and pointed out that the sneakers on his feet belonged to the "ghost boy", so the informant followed Peng Xinyi home and reported to the police.
More than 100 agents immediately followed up the investigation, and based on the semen in the female deceased's body, the underwear left behind at the scene of the murder and other evidence, on November 28, 1985, the police arrested the three adult defendants involved in the case, Peng Xinyi, Tan Shihuan and Zhao Weiwen, as well as the minor accomplices Yin Sanlong and Zhang Youheng, and the test results confirmed that the No. 9 sneakers worn by Peng Xinyi were indeed owned by Kenneth.
After Yin Sanlong was arrested, he confessed that on the day of the crime, the suspects Peng Xinyi, Tan Shihuan, Zhang Youheng, Yin Sanlong, and Zhao Weiwen passed through BMW Mountain and found Kenneth and Nigura reviewing. Peng picked up a wooden stick and said to the other four, "Better to play with them in the past!" They snatched Kenneth's gold watch, and Peng Xinyi's request for sex with Nigura was rejected, so he beat her with a stick, pulled her down the hill and raped her, and afterwards asked the others "if they wanted it." He then used his barbecue fork to scare the other four, asking them to kill them to avoid trouble.
As a result, the five men put a wooden stick on Kenneth's neck, then vigorously stamped on the "rocking board", removed the bandage on Kenneth's shoulder and strangled his neck with Nigura's dress, Kenneth struggled in pain, and finally died of exhaustion. They then put sticks and soda bottles into Nigura's pussy until she passed out, and then beat her with sticks, causing Nicholas to die.
The police charged all five of the arrested murderers with two counts of murder. Among them, only Yin Sanlong confessed to the murder and appeared in court to testify against four of his co-conspirators. As a result, the jury convicted each individual in 1987 and sentenced them to death. By 1992, the Governor and The Executive Council of Hong Kong had routinely pardoned them to death sentences and commuted them to life imprisonment. Dr Yeung Chi Tao is the first government-recognized clinical hypologist in Hong Kong and the only hypnotist to assist the police in solving cases, and he studied psychology at the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and is currently the only psychologist in Hong Kong to have this degree.
