[Global Times reporter Qin Rui] Brazil's political and military circles have changed blood for two consecutive days, and the number of new deaths caused by the new crown pneumonia epidemic has also reached a new high for two consecutive days. According to the Brazilian news network "G1" reported on March 31, some opposition lawmakers proposed a bill to impeach President Bolsonaro, demanding that Bolsonaro be held responsible for Brazil's political and epidemic crisis. On the other hand, Bolsonaro has re-disagreed with the Minister of Health and the President of the Senate on epidemic prevention policies.

According to the report, on March 29, Six Brazilian ministerial-level officials, including the minister of defense, were replaced, and the commander of the army, navy and air force stepped down at the same time the next day, triggering discussions in various circles in Brazil, believing that this was an expression of dissatisfaction with Bolsonaro's politicization of the army. On March 31, opposition members of Congress submitted a bill to the House of Representatives to impeach Bolsonaro, calling the president's dismissal of key generals in the three services "dangerous and destabilizing." Lawmakers calling for the president's impeachment said Bolsonaro had violated seven laws, including attempts to violate judicial, legislative and executive freedoms, and attempts to disrupt political and social order through violent means.

The proposal also states that the change of commanders of the Ministry of Defence and the armed forces could incite disobedience among military personnel. Rep. Freyshu, who was involved in the impeachment petition, said Bolsonaro was trying to turn the armed forces into a political tool. Parliamentarians "cannot be bystanders to this barbarism". In addition, a justice of Brazil's Supreme Court is about to retire in July, and the replacement has become a recent debate. Brazilian analysts say Bolsonaro wants to find a "loyal, faithful" minister, a "watchdog" in the Supreme Court.

While political strife continues, the epidemic in Brazil is worsening again. According to data reported by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, on March 30, the number of new deaths in Brazil reached 3,780 in a single day, a new high since the outbreak. But the record was broken the next day, and on March 31, Brazil's single-day new deaths reached a new high of 3,869, with a cumulative death toll of more than 321,000. At the same time, on March 31, more than 90,000 new confirmed cases were confirmed in a single day, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases exceeded 12.57 million.

In order to coordinate anti-epidemic policies, Brazil announced the establishment of a national anti-epidemic committee on March 24 to discuss and make decisions on the latest developments in epidemic prevention every week. Brazil's São Paulo page said the committee met for the first time on March 31, but Bolsonaro disagreed with Senate President Pacheco and newly appointed Health Minister Kyroga. In their speeches, Paseoko and Cairoga stressed the importance of social distancing policies, calling on people to avoid gatherings, wear masks and practice social distancing during the upcoming Easter holidays. Bolsonaro criticized social distancing for hurting the economy and called on people to "not stay at home and solve problems."
