Beijing Pop-up Biennale - A History of Studio Flux in Beijing

Zhang Xiaotao, "Daydream"
Curated by the famous curator and critic Wang Chunchen, this exhibition starts from the Yuanmingyuan Painters' Village that appeared in 1990, and focuses on documents, works of art and relevant materials provided by artists, and clearly introduces to the visitors the rheology process of Beijing's 30 years of art district and the relocation and change experience of artists' studios through the way of a timeline. Let us see a rheological genealogy of the Beijing Art District that encompasses time and space, and for the first time, the history of the art district is displayed in such a concrete form.
Zhang Xiaogang's "Green Wall. Out of the Window》
Art is no longer a towering existence here, we follow the artist to experience, to experience, to perceive the rise and fall of the art district. Behind this subject is power, business, or the human heart— waiting for the audience to watch and comment. In conjunction with the exhibition, the museum also organized the first season of "Migratory Utopia" forum, which discussed the history of the 798 flux and the rights protection incident of "Warm Winter", so that these dusty fragments of experience were left to time to answer.

The carrots melted and the rabbits were sad
Rabbit Lost and Found Office - Amusement Park PART3
This summer, the Times Art Museum and artist Zhang Quan have created a large-scale "amusement park" in the city for us, the protagonist is actually a rabbit and a carrot, of course, indispensable is the childlike heart of you to join. Featuring the concept of "LOST & FOUND", the amusement park features the latest creation from Zhang Quan's "Carrots Melt Rabbits Are Sad" series. The "amusement park" built by the artist with the image of a rabbit is also a social amusement park built with his own imagination and life. This amusement park is not only loaded with works, images and imaginary visions, but also the living conditions of an era, full of different desires for "happiness".
The whole exhibition hides a very artistic black humor, Zhang Quan puts himself in a fictional paradise, and frankly tells everyone that only entertainment is the most sad in this era. And in the exhibition, it is trying to distinguish the essence of pleasure and entertainment to the viewer, "happiness" is simple and simple, while "entertainment" is cumbersome and complex.

Location: No. 69 Fuxing Road, Haidian District (Bloomage LIVE. HI-UP Northeast Corner) Hall 5, Beijing Times Art Museum

Explore the hidden world
The 3rd Today Future Pavilion • Robot Room DE JA VU
There is a distance of life
The 3rd Today Future Museum • "Between Robots" De Ja Vu invited 13 domestic and foreign artists to respond to the topic of artificial intelligence and art creation with 17 works. In the exhibition, the fourth floor of the Today Art Museum opens two-way viewing clues for the first time, the clockwise "Sophia" line tells the scene of the algorithm from invisible to being shaped, the ability gradually expands, and finally the human ends, and the machine remains in the world; the counterclockwise hidden clue ("Alexa") tells the story of the almighty machine trying to find its own starting point, constantly stripping away ability and cognition in the time rollback, until it is reduced to the end of 0 and 1.
Today's artists are also users of technology, and may be able to jump out of the availability of existing technology, make more imaginative connections outward, dig more hidden stories inward, and return to "understanding the world in an interlocking way" like a journalist, until the marginal relationship between science and art will become conscious again.

Return to the truth and seek self-righteousness
Chinese paper more than a thousand years - zai Dao Tibetan truth
A total of seven areas were designed at the exhibition site, which were based on the four virtues of paper, the way of seeking knowledge, the way of seeking truth, the way of respecting teachers, the way of learning, and the way of preserving truth, to show Gong Bin, the founder of Beijing Dechenggong Paper Mill, and his two teachers, Mr. Wang Juhua of China Pulp and Paper Research Institute, and Mr. Du Weisheng of the National Library of China for eight years of painstaking efforts, using traditional methods to restore the Jintang copied sutra dyed yellow paper, so that the viewer can understand the yellowed paper of a thousand years ago, from sensory experience to spiritual feeling paper to carry the Tao.
Walking into the scene, it is as if you are in an antique papermaking workshop, time travels back to the Jin Dynasty at this moment, and the legendary yellow paper is so close to us at this moment. We also put Buddhas on robes, such as the ancients who quietly copied the sutras and practiced the Dharma. It is worth mentioning that the art museum specially distinguishes a deep "hidden scripture cave", the audience holds oil lamps, accompanied by the sound of ticking water that appears from time to time, releasing the senses of the whole body, truly experiencing the state of the ancients picking up the lamp and flipping through the books, returning to the original authenticity.

Sino-Italian cultural exchanges, using art to care for reality
Mirror: Mateo Basile and Shi Liang duo exhibition
Mateo. Basilea, The Sacred Stone
Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, the Hongkun Art Museum brings us a joint exhibition of Chinese artist Shi Liang and Italian artist Mateo Basile. Using the "mirror" interconnectedness as a clue, the two artists explore cutting-edge examples of contemporary art between the two countries of East and West.
Shi Liang 《景》
This exhibition exhibits the works of the two artists in the categories of painting, photography, installation, video, comprehensive materials, etc., allowing us to see their comprehensive display in the field of art and the dialogue through time and space. As one of the most influential contemporary Italian artists in the 21st century, the winner of the 2009 Venice Biennale Grand Prix, Mateo Basile combines the aesthetic ideals of Italian classical painting with the current artistic concepts, excelling at using the latest technological media, integrating art and technology, and creating a series of "surreal" photographic works based on realistic images. The works of Shi Liang, one of the representative figures of Contemporary Chinese painting, start from the reality of China, use a variety of emerging materials, deeply think about human life, and use his works to make a strong voice. Behind the creation is the recognition of the absurdity and embarrassment of reality and the atmosphere full of metaphors and irony.

Unleash emotions in honesty
Tibetan Feng Rui - Group exhibition of figurative paintings
Kang Haitao, "White Wave"
From a problematic perspective, this exhibition re-discusses the multiple possibilities of "figurative" painting in the current situation by presenting different cases of artists Yin Chaoyang, Ni Jun, Song Kun, Kang Haitao, Zhang Jian, Zhou Wenzhong, Qi Xing, Chen Zhuo, Jiang Shanchun and other artists in the context of the elite culture of the academy. This is also the beginning of the partial new art space from abstraction to study figurative art forms, and it will also be more diversified in the future.
Zhang Jian 《Cafe》
Figurative painting is a neutral but respectful practical path of local art cues and real social situations. Artists have different styles and paths, and their works of art and practice do not form trends or models, but they imply honesty and affirmation of collective and self-experience, which may contain a true contemporaneity today. Through the expression of figurative art forms, the exhibition interprets paintings rooted in tradition more internationally. Art is not about abstraction and figuration, what is important is the sense of truth that is revealed in the emotional communication, and you can feel it in front of the painting.

Fairy tales on earth
Huaqing solo exhibition
Man's Fairy Tale - Sharedism
The world we live in is not perfect, it is absurd, and even sometimes boring, how to live out its own wonderfulness in it? Huaqing's exhibition seems to be able to give us some inspiration and encouragement from a certain perspective. Hua Qing is willing to imagine the world as, or from a higher latitude perspective, as a fairy tale world of all sentient beings, so that he can make himself simple and kind, and look at it to keep smiling, because he is full of love for this world.
"Time is Our Friend No.2"
In the new works on display, Hua Qing depicts the themes of his concern in a way that is close to cuteness, exaggeration, humor and humor, and the juxtaposition of rationality and sensibility, human animal attributes and social attributes generates a strong sense of conflict, forming a unique way to release the artist's keen feelings and strong emotions. He reduces all sentient beings to the original true image of human beings, the orangutan, evoking the primordial power that lurks deep within us to find the truth. Hua Qing said, "Our wise and humorous smiles are probably replaced by God watching us think." ”

Those fragments of memory that are beyond sight
Insomniac's Dream - Du Chunfeng solo exhibition
"Afterimage"
This exhibition exhibits 20 new works by Du Chunfeng, although the theme is "The Dream of the Insomniac", it does not explore the "dream" itself, but tries to present the relationship between illusory things and people as fun beyond appearances through the connection of dreams. For the artist, the introduction of dreams is a new attempt.
Night Waiter
These objects are either drawn from literary films or derived from mythological stories, and imaginary objects fall on the body, and the content is related to the combination of fantasy and memory. For Du Chunfeng, art is not only a formal exploration, but also a more concern for the expression of self outside of form. His wood carving works have a unique quiet beauty, the color collocation also uses black, white and wood primary colors of the three simple colors, the whole character exudes a quiet, serene temperament like the prototype from the ancient picture scroll. This is a reflection of the reality reference triggered by the dream, which deviates from the original trajectory but completes a gorgeous transformation in the new field.

Qingqing Zizhen, leisurely my heart
The National Endowment for the Arts 2019 annual funding project
Li Kejin, "Man"
The "Qinggen Project 2019" selected a total of 155 works by 69 young artists, and nearly half of the artists who participated in the exhibition this year after 90 years. The original intention of this project is to observe and record the creative status of young artists as a long-term project, and to build a good communication platform for them. The "Qinggen Project" focuses on the creative concepts and ideological states of young artists born since the 1980s in the form of exhibitions and document publications.
Zheng Mengqiang, "Scenery of Hometown"
Curator Wei Xiangqi believes that the ideological resources created by artists, ultimately implemented in creation, are an intuition of life experience. All experiences are tools to be used and chains that bind one's imagination. Still, the big reward is that all experiences will be new. "Life is big, art is small, and good art needs to be nourished by abundant life force; but also know another level, art is infinite, with the small to see the big, to see the law of all things."
