Lan Xiaohong, an outstanding laborer in Changting County: A chicken's life's work
Speaking of Changting, it is impossible not to mention the local famous dish Bai Chopped River Chicken. Speaking of Changting Hetian chicken, everyone knows that Lan Xiaohong, who has been engaged in Hetian chicken breeding since the age of 23, is 53 years old this year, exactly 30 years old, "a chicken, a lifetime of career" is a sentence she often says, but also her belief in insisting on 30 years of Riverfield chicken breeding.
Lan Xiaohong's Lanxiu Breeding Farm is located in Luogong mountain, Shangjie Village, Hetian Town, with a radius of 300 acres. Walking into this farm, the trees are shaded, the sounds of chickens and dogs are heard, and it is difficult to imagine that ten years ago, this place was once an abandoned field of rare earth mines with no grass and serious soil erosion. In 2006, Lan Xiaohong contracted this barren mountain, and the couple walked into the barren land together and began a difficult wasteland. After nearly ten years of persistence and hard work, the once barren mountain has now been covered with green trees and grass, and everywhere is full of vitality. In recent years, the chicken farm has produced more than 1.5 million baby chicken seedlings and 700,000-100,000 commercial chickens per year, with an average annual output value of more than 10 million yuan and an annual net income of 2.5 million yuan.
In order to drive more villagers to get rich together, Lan Xiaohong joined hands with 115 villagers in the town who are willing to breed in 2013 to open the Changting County Vanilla Poultry Breeding Technical Service Professional Cooperative, which is committed to building the Hetian chicken brand.
Lan Xiaohong always put "a rich family is not rich, everyone is rich and really rich" in her heart, unreservedly passed on the breeding, epidemic prevention and treatment techniques she mastered to everyone, and under her help and guidance, 22 women from 22 families embarked on the road of raising chickens to get rich. She also provides free technical services to 66 farmers in surrounding townships throughout the year. Through technical training, seedling provision, product underwriting and other measures, 18 Hetian chicken farms have been supported and developed.
Lan Xiaohong took the initiative to contact and help poor households, and helped 30 poor households, distributed 100 chicken seedlings for 15 poor households free of charge, sent 30 small and medium-sized chickens to 15 poor households, and arranged 10 days of employment in the chicken farm for 12 poor households.
In the eyes of some people, more people raise river chickens means that competitors have increased, but Lan Xiaohong does not see it that way. My goal is to make the Hetian chicken brand, she said, hoping that more villagers will get rich by raising chickens and promote Hetian chicken to the world.
