Ten days of talk | Magpie Nobori report auspicious

Chongming Island's unique coastal landscape and abundant green natural environment attract many birds to settle here, especially becoming a paradise for magpies.

Swim in the magpie kingdom and be unconsciously infected by the noble and elegant form of the magpies. The black and white magpies are lonely, holy, standing or soaring, crossing their necks on the branches of the trees, drumming and singing in the fields, and merging with heaven and earth.

Magpie climbing branches is the most vivid sight of these joys. Magpies with their long tails cocked, brightly dressed in black, sang their voices, jumped up and down the branches, and walked back and forth through the woods, bringing good luck and joy to the people of the island.

In summer, when the sky is just dawn, the roosters in the house are singing, the trees are covered with greenery, and the magpies are chirping, crisp and pleasant. Walking on the field, facing the wind blowing from the field, the rice trees are growing madly, and there is no longer any way to see the line when planting seedlings, dense and full, like the green silk of a girl. A few magpies jump and chirp on the branches of the field sidewalk, and even if you stop and look up, they still stand there, looking at each other, singing their own songs, so unhappy.

In autumn, when the autumn breeze is cold, the leaves are falling, and the magpie nest is exposed to the branches, the magpies are coming in and out, transporting their supplies for the winter, and they are very busy.

The magpie is a traditional auspicious bird, and the concept of magpie singing and joy has accumulated into a traditional complex of Chinese since ancient times, and is deeply loved by people. Therefore, on Chongming Island, according to rural customs, magpie nests are not allowed to be dug up at will, even naughty children will not touch it.

However, magpies are sentient and spiritual. I remember when I was in elementary school, one day, when my father was working in the field, he found an injured magpie with blood on one leg and wing, so he carefully carried it home, and found incense burner ash (the soil method used in the countryside to stop bleeding) to apply to the wound, bandaged it with cloth strips, and dug some loach and small insects in the rice field to nourish it. Let it sleep under the eaves of the straw at night. A few days later, the injured magpie recovered and could fly from the ground to the roof. Its white-backed black, pointed-billed long-tailed form is endearing. This magpie was carefully cared for by our family in exchange for its true feelings. During the day, no matter where his father went to work, the magpie always followed him and was inseparable. In the evening, I came home from work and flew to the roof of my house, like a guard standing guard. At night, he flew into my house to sleep under the eaves. This clever and spiritual magpie has become a close companion in the life of our family, bringing a sense of peace and vitality, and is also a pistachio, adding a lot of fun. Later, over time, although we all liked it, it was wild after all, and it should be returned to nature. So our family went to great lengths to send it to a remote crop field several times, or to the river a few miles away, but in the evening, it would always fly back on time... Seeing this scene, our hearts softened, and we continued to leave it behind, so that we settled down for nearly half a year. But one day, just after breakfast, this magpie did not know whether there was something on his mind, or whether he was humane, and seeing that our family was poor at that time, there was nothing to feed, and suddenly some uneasiness rose, it was silent, did not eat or drink, flew around in the yard, flew from under the eaves of my house to the roof, and looked back from time to time, perhaps because it could not speak, it could only remember the master's rescue in this way. After a final shout of joy, Goofy flew in the sky and never returned. The magpie is gone, it takes away the love that our family gave it, but it leaves us with many thoughts.

The loose days show leisure and elegance, and the free rhythm stretches out the ease and peace. Nowadays, there are many magpies in the countryside to accompany them, which is heart-stirring and intoxicating. (Shuqing)
