Following 2018's "Totoro" and 2019's "Spirited Away", another action film directed by Hayao Miyazaki has been confirmed to be introduced to the mainland for release. This time, I will meet the audience with "Bo Niu on the Cliff" (previously everyone called it "Goldfish On the Cliff", and the translation of the theatrical release version is slightly different).
Produced by Studio Ghibli, directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, and voiced by Yuri Ai Nara, Tomoko Yamaguchi, kazushige Nagashima, Ponyo on the Cliff is a feature-length animated film that premiered in Japan on July 19, 2008. The film tells the story between the mermaid Bo Yu in the deep sea who wants to become a human and the human boy Sosuke.
"Bo Niu on the Cliff" is pure hand-drawn, with a total of more than 170,000 manuscripts, which is the largest number of works by Miyazaki. He won the 2008 Japanese Annual Box Office Title. At present, the domestic schedule of the film has yet to be confirmed.
