Zhangzhou, 30 Sep (Xinhua) -- On the morning of 30 September, the inaugural meeting and the first meeting of representatives of Taiwan compatriots in Longwen District, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, were held in Longwen District Government. So far, Zhangzhou has achieved full coverage of the grass-roots organizations of the Taiwan Federation, becoming the only districted city in the country with full coverage of the grass-roots organizations of the Taiwan Federation.
Fang Liyun, chairman of the Zhangzhou Municipal Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, said in his speech that Longwen District is rich in resources for Taiwan, including Ruizhuyan and Tan LinWeihui Temples for exchanges with Taiwan, Wansongguan, where Zheng Chenggong garrisoned, Zhangtai Traditional Martial Arts Exchange Base, Zhangtai Family Genealogy Museum, and Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base.

Zhu Zhen, secretary of the Longwen District CPC Committee, pointed out in his speech that Longwen and Taiwan have inextricably linked blood and kinship. She said that the establishment of the Taiwan Compatriots Association in Longwen District and the convening of the first Taiwan Compatriots Congress will further harmonize feelings, integrate exchanges, and share the Longwen opportunities of "Dazhangzhou" with Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan businessmen, and the District Taiwan Compatriots Association should make positive contributions to promoting cross-strait people-to-people exchanges, spiritual harmony, and common development.
The meeting also held a medal awarding ceremony and elected the leadership team of the first council of the Longwen District Taiwan Federation. Zou Weihua was elected as the part-time president of the first council of the Longwen District Taiwan Federation of Zhangzhou City, and Pan Yanping was elected as the full-time vice president of the first council of the Longwen District Taiwan Federation of Zhangzhou City.
