Two "Drum Kings" Tsumon "Fighting"

author:Bright Net

Two Jingyun drum "drum kings" were born in the qu art world: one was Luo Yusheng, who was once known as the "Golden Voice Singer King" in Jinmen; the other was Liu Baoquan, the famous predecessor "Jingyun Drum King". In the early years, there was an anecdote about the two masters "fighting against the stage".

Liu Baoquan and Luo Yusheng have certain similarities in their artistic experience, and at the same time, they have both been assisted by the Three Strings Sacred Hand Han Yonglu. The two "drum kings" both learned to sing Peking Opera in their early years, laying a deep foundation for later enriching the singing voice and recitation of the Beijing rhyme drum. For example, in the famous passages such as "Zi Period Listening to the Qin", "Bo Ya Wrestling The Qin" and "Drumming and Scolding Cao", the artistic elements of Peking Opera are integrated, giving the audience a sense of heaviness and beauty of the national essence. Luo Yusheng (Xiaocai Dance), at the age of 9, performed "Lost Space" with Meng Xiaodong, a veteran of Peking Opera known as the "Winter Emperor", in Shanghai, and her role of Zhuge Liang won the full hall of color, and was praised and passed on by the "Winter Emperor". As early as 1930, when Luo Yusheng, who was only 16 years old, appeared on stage in Nanjing to sing Peking Opera Erhuang, he had witnessed the stage style of Liu Baoquan, a tycoon of Jingyun, and was deeply impressed by Liu Baoquan's exquisite art. Han Yonglu was originally Liu Baoquan's violinist, and the two broke up for some reason. In 1934, Luo Yusheng worshiped under Han Yonglu's door. Han played an important role in Luo's fame and the formation of the "Luo Faction".

Luo Yusheng and his master Han Yonglu came to Tianjin in 1936 and became famous in one fell swoop, being praised by the audience as the "King of Golden Voice Songs" and founding the "Luo School". Soon after she became famous, she attracted the attention of Liu Baoquan, the already famous "Jingyun Drum King". At that time, Luo Yusheng performed in Xiaoliyuan as a bottom; Liu Baoquan picked up the beams on the Tianxiang stage, and the two formed a "fight" situation against the stage. One day, Liu Baoquan quietly came to Xiaoliyuan to stand in the last row to watch Luo Yusheng's performance. Luo was a little nervous when he learned of Liu's arrival. Master Han Yonglu comforted and encouraged her to sing boldly, don't worry, Liu Baoquan will have a big mind for the "Drum King". Sure enough, Liu Baoquan quietly left after listening to Luo Yusheng's singing of "Bo Ya Wrestling". After two days, Luo Yusheng also quietly came to the Tianxiang Stage, secretly watched Liu Baoquan's performance, and was discovered by the people on the Tianxiang Stage and informed Liu Baoquan. So when Liu sang "Thorn Tang Qin", he deliberately added a lot of high cavities and ga tones. Luo Yusheng saw his intentions and never went to the Tianxiang stage again. Before his death, Liu Baoquan predicted that Luo Yusheng would become the second "drum king" in the Chinese drum industry.

It is said that the two "drum kings" later met on the street, Luo Yusheng originally wanted to say hello, and surprisingly, Liu Baoquan actually covered his face with a folding fan and rubbed shoulders with Luo Yusheng; the two never met again, which became a regrettable thing in the music world and a mystery for posterity.
