On August 2, the 2021 Global Digital Economy Conference opened in Beijing, and the conference released the "Implementation Plan of Beijing Municipality on Accelerating the Construction of a Benchmark City in the Global Digital Economy", which clarified the strategic plan of Beijing to accelerate the development of the digital economy, build "six highlands" leading the development of the global digital economy, and build a benchmark city of the global digital economy by 2030.
As an important statistical standard for measuring the development level of the digital economy, on May 27, 2021, the National Bureau of Statistics issued the Statistical Classification of the Digital Economy and Its Core Industries (2021).
The digital economy has silently changed our lifestyles and thinking patterns unconsciously, and the emergence of the Internet has created a new business environment, allowing all walks of life to obtain the opportunity to directly serve consumers through online platforms.
The development of digitalization has reconstructed traditional business processes, and the increase of online channels can improve consumer efficiency and effectively reduce costs.
The development of the digital economy has spawned a large number of new industries such as online education, online medical care, e-commerce, etc. According to the data of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of 2021, the revenue of online education and online sports enterprises increased by more than 40% year-on-year, and the revenue of online medical, online entertainment, and online game enterprises increased by about 30% year-on-year.
In addition, with the development of intelligence, digital development has also reshaped the consumption scene and brought us more new consumption experiences. The application of intelligent technology is an important development direction of the digital economy, and intelligent products will become the main force of the development of the digital economy in the future, bringing greater vitality to the digital economy.
In the future, there will be more and more application scenarios for these wisdoms in Beijing. Investment in new infrastructure has increased significantly, and the layout of 5G construction, Internet of Vehicles, data centers, new platforms, and smart applications has been accelerated. In the first half of 2021, Beijing's new infrastructure investment increased by 34.6% year-on-year, 25.4 percentage points faster than the city's investment growth rate, accounting for 9.4% of the city's fixed asset investment, an increase of 1.8 percentage points year-on-year.
The Internet that we ordinary users usually come into contact with is, to be precise, just a branch of the "real Internet", called the "Consumer Internet".
