Text/Cui Jinshan

In the recent period, in the Shijiazhuang area, especially in Pingshan and Lingshou counties, one of the most talked about things was that the large-scale historical documentary "Zhongshan Guo" was broadcast on the CCTV documentary channel and various channels in Hebei. However, Pingshan and Lingshou are two heavens of ice and fire: the holy land of Pingshan, Aipingshan Network, Changyou Pingshan, Pingshan Tourism, Damei Pingshan and all other Pingshan media have reported on it, while the official media and other public media of Lingshou are cold and cold, and the WeChat group is passionate, but it is all sour: because there is no Lingshou in the Lingshou City of the Warring States Zhongshan Kingdom.

Warring States Zhongshan Kingdom Lingshou City No Lingshou - Lingshou (64) You May Not Know Lingshou (64) The Warring States Zhongshan Kingdom Lingshou City No Lingshou

"Lingshou" appeared as a place name, at least more than 1100 years before "Pingshan". The name "Lingshou" has appeared in the first Shang Dynasty, first there was Lingshou wood, then There was Lingshouyi, and then there was Lingshou County. According to historical records, in the 39th year of Wei Wenhou (407 BC), Le Yang led Wei Shi to attack Zhongshan, defeated the main force of the Zhongshan army Yu Lingshou, and later enfeoffed Le Yang Lingshou Jun. In the 18th year of The Reign of Marquis Wu of Wei (378 BC), duke Huan of Zhongshan restored the kingdom and moved the capital to Lingshou. At that time, Lingshou was just a city, there was no Lingshou County, let alone Pingshan County, and some were just the Lingshou City of the Warring States Zhongshan Kingdom.

The concept of "Lingshou, the capital of the Warring States of Zhongshan", has not changed since ancient times. The Warring States "Shiben" contains: "Zhongshan WuGong Ju Gu, Huan Gong Migrated Lingshou". Northern Wei "Thirteen States Chronicle" Yun: "Lingshou, Zhongshan Huan Gongdu". From 1975 to 1993, the Institute of Cultural Relics of Hebei Province carried out systematic excavation of the Warring States ruins in the Sanji area of Pingshan County, found and excavated several Zhongshan King's Tombs, unearthed a number of exquisite cultural relics that shocked China and even the world, and found a city pool, confirming that it was the "Warring States Zhongshan National Lingshou City" recorded in the history books. In 2005, the Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Institute published a report on archaeological excavations from 1975 to 1993, entitled "Warring States Zhongshan National Lingshou City". The recent historical documentary "Zhongshan Guo" broadcast by CCTV and Hebei Television also undoubtedly calls the archaeologically excavated city of the Warring States Zhongshan Guo Lingshou City, and describes the scene of Le Yang at Lingshou Wenshan and Mushan Mountain in a larger space. "Warring States Zhongshan National Spirit Shou City" is a historical fact, and there was no controversy. However, the conclusion made by the Hebei Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology that "the Lingshou City of the Warring States of Zhongshan is in Pingshan" has pushed both Pingshan and Lingshou into a rather embarrassing situation.

As far as Pingshan is concerned, the discovery of Zhongshan Guo Lingshou City and Zhongshan King's Mausoleum is undoubtedly a major opportunity to improve the popularity of Pingshan and promote the great development of Pingshan tourism, but the phrase "Pingshan Zhongshan Guo Lingshou City" is how awkward to hear, so in the publicity of the ancient Zhongshan Guo Ruins in Pingshan County, the three words "Lingshou City" are gradually diluted and eventually erased. In fact, erasing the word "Lingshou" is not the earliest invention of Pingshan, and in 1988, the stone stele of the national key cultural relics protection unit on the roadside of Hequ Village in Pingshan County, which was erected by the People's Government of Hebei Province, clearly wrote "Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins". Since then, Pingshan's "Zhongshan Guo" project has gradually drawn a clear line with "Lingshou".

According to reports, in 2000, Pingshan County's "ZhongshanGuo Ancient City Ruins Protection Plan" began to be compiled. In April 2012, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage approved the "Zhongshan Guo Ancient City Ruins Protection Plan". In May 2013, the "ZhongshanGuo Ancient City Ruins Protection Plan" was officially listed as a key project in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" of Hebei Province. In July 2017, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage approved the "Zhongshan Ancient City National Archaeological Site Park Planning" project. There is no lingshou in the names of these ancient cities in Zhongshan. At the Seminar on the Cultural Development and Positioning of Zhongshan In Shijiazhuang City held in September 2018, the press release introduced that "in the middle of the Warring States period, zhongshan has moved its capital to the area of Sanji Township in Pingshan County, Hebei Province", and "Warring States Zhongshan Guo Lingshou City" has completely lost its spiritual life.

As a Lingshou, there is no controversy about the tomb of the King of Zhongshan in Pingshan. However, the biggest controversy is whether the "Warring States Zhongshan National Lingshou City" is in Pingshan Sanji or in the Lingshou Ancient City. The Lingshou County Chronicle records that during the Western Jin Dynasty, the county administration was moved from the old city to the current county seat. For "Lingshou, zhongshan huan dudu" refers to the capital of Zhongshan kingdom, successive generations of Lingshou people have always believed that it is in the ancient city of Lingshou. But the Hebei provincial archaeological team made a big joke with the Lingshou people. If archaeology has set the ancient capital of Zhongshan in other places in the territory of Lingshou, such as Gangbei and Sunjiazhuang near Pingshan, the Lingshou people feel that it can still be said, but they have left the Lingshou realm and run to the territory of Pingshan. Wang Ling was in Pingshan, and he gave the ancient capital to Pingshan, and it was also called "Zhongshan Kingdom Lingshou City", which made Lingshou people feel bad? This is not to mention, in order to highlight the height of the ancient capital of Pingshan Sanji, archaeologists actually described the ancient city of Lingshou as the "acropolis" of the ancient capital of Pingshan without in-depth excavation, and the ancient city "Zhao Wangtai" recorded in the history books was also called "ZhaoWangtai" by the documentary "Zhongshan Kingdom". So, how to explain the octagonal well and fish pond in the ancient city that represented the royal city in the legend of the Lingshou generation? How to explain the villages around the old city, namely the south, east and west of the city? What an "acropolis" to make the Lingshou people convinced!

History must be based on archaeology. Archaeological discoveries of the Warring States Zhongshan Kingdom Lingshou City in Pingshan, there must be archaeological evidence. The Lingshou people shouted and broke their voices, in exchange for a shout from the Pingshan people! The People of Pingshan disdained arguing with Lingshou because archaeology was ironclad evidence. In the face of archaeological evidence, all folk speech seems so pale and powerless.

It is precisely because of this archaeological basis that Pingshan people have timely unveiled the "Ancient Capital Zhongshan Country" cultural tourism signboard, committed to creating a unique cultural tourism soul of Pingshan, and using the strength of the whole county to create the brand of Zhongshan Ancient City. On this issue, Hirayama took full advantage of the time and place. In the past 20 years, Pingshan County has continued to promote the "Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins Protection Plan" and "Zhongshan Ancient City National Archaeological Site Park Master Plan", and organized a series of demonstration meetings and seminars, which are very complicated and difficult. Geography, Pingshan County Sanji itself is an archaeologically determined Wangcheng District, the construction of Wangling District is also improving day by day, and the archaeological site park is just around the corner. The chief planner of the documentary "Zhongshan Guo" and the president of the Zhongshan Guo Culture Research Association in Hebei Province is Zhang Zhiping, who is also a Pingshan person, and Pingshan also has a group of people from all walks of life who study Zhongshan culture. The most valuable thing is that successive Pingshan County Party Committee and county government have attached great importance to the development of the ruins of the ancient capital of Zhongshan, set up special agencies, organized a large number of manpower, material resources, and finances, and unremittingly promoted this work in the past 20 years, which has won today's brilliant situation.

And what did Lingshou do? However, there are several stone monuments of "Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins" erected on the boundaries of the ancient city, and there are also several amateurs shouting and running east and west. Pie doesn't fall from heaven. Publicity comes at a price and a price. It is not a fool's dream to let Pingshan, which has paid a lot of human, material and financial resources, to publicize the "Warring States Zhongshan National Spirit Shou City"!

Archaeology is a science that speaks mainly of physical objects and inscriptions. There is no controversy in the Tomb of the King of Zhongshan, and that is because there are inscriptions. Archaeological conclusions are sometimes speculative. Saying that the Lingshou Ancient City is an "acropolis" is only the speculation of experts, and there is no accurate basis. The description of the Zhao Wangtai recorded in the Lingshou County Chronicle as "Summoning the King's Platform" is also speculated by experts. On the other hand, it is said that the ancient city of Lingshou is the capital of Zhongshan Kingdom, the history is not clearly recorded, archaeology has not been excavated, and all the shouts now are only speculation. In addition to the old county town of Lingshou, what was the Warring States period?

Thousands of shouts, it is better to do an archaeology in a down-to-earth manner! It's not without hope either. Last year, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage approved the "Zhongshan Ancient City National Archaeological Site Park Planning", which also includes the "Warring States Zhongshan Kingdom Dongbao City Ruins Display Area", this "Dongbao City Ruins" should be the Lingshou Ancient City. The Lingshou County government should seize this rare opportunity to actively respond to the cultural demands of the masses and promote the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau to conduct a systematic excavation of the ruins of the Lingshou Ancient City to see whether this ancient city is the ancient city of the dynasty. Perhaps, there will be a major discovery that will subvert history!
