On April 1, the 2020 fishing ban period in Gongshan County was launched. At the launching ceremony, the person in charge of the county fishery administration supervision and administration bureau signed a letter of responsibility for the management of the fishing ban target in 2020 with the representative of the person in charge of fishery work in the township, and publicly destroyed the illegal fishing gear and prohibited fishing nets collected during the 2019 fishing ban period.
After the launching ceremony, the county fishery administration and law enforcement personnel went to the major hotels, restaurants and farms in the county to carry out publicity and law enforcement work, and signed a letter of commitment with relevant enterprise legal persons not to buy or sell wild aquatic animals during the fishing ban period. The staff also went to the county farmers' market and cross street to sign a letter of guarantee with the owner of the shop that sold fishing gear not to sell fishing gear during the fishing ban period, and posted fishing ban notices, posters and slogans in important areas, restaurants and publicity columns in the county.
Subsequently, the county fishery administration and law enforcement personnel drove to all townships and towns in the county, and distributed the "Fishery Law of the People's Republic of China", the "Fishing Ban Notice", posters, slogans, and the audio of the fishing ban broadcast to the township and town staff, mobilizing the participation of the whole people, comprehensive prevention and control, and working together to jointly protect aquatic resources, so that the implementation of the fishing ban system is well known.
During this period, the county fishery administration and law enforcement personnel went to the front line of the river to carry out law enforcement patrols, confiscated the illegal fishing nets and illegal fishing gear on both sides of the Nu River, and persuaded and expelled illegal fishing personnel during the fishing ban period.

It is reported that there are 30 species of fish in Gongshan County, of which the key protected fish are Gongshan split-bellied fish, Gongshan bass, and short-bodied fish. Since its implementation in 2003 with the approval of the State Council, the fishing ban system has achieved good ecological and social benefits. This year is the fourth year that our county has implemented a fishing ban period, which is from April 1 to August 31 every year, and the scope of fishing ban is all rivers, rivers, lakes and other natural waters under the jurisdiction of Gongshan County.
