In 1957, the Republican Army held a second award, and in the 57 years of awarding, the Central Military Commission relaxed the criteria for awarding the Order of Independence freedom of the first class: those who had previously served in the main brigade during the War of Resistance Against Japan could be awarded the Order of Independence and Freedom of the First Class. According to the new criteria for the awarding of the Order of Independence and Freedom of the First Class in 1957, a total of 196 people were awarded the Order of Independence and Freedom of the First Class in the second order of the Republican Army.
