From October 12 to 14, 2021, the 2021 China-ASEAN International Forum on Traditional Medicine health tourism, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Health Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the People's Government of Hechi Municipality of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the People's Government of Guangxi Bama Yao Autonomous County, and Guangxi Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "hereinafter referred to as" Bama Forum" was successfully held in Bama, Guangxi, the hometown of longevity in the world.

The Bama Forum is held every two years, and this year is the fourth edition. With the theme of "Integrated Development of Traditional Medicine and Tourism Industry under the Normalization of Epidemic Prevention and Control", the forum aims to further exchange the current situation of traditional medicine and health tourism between China and ASEAN countries under the background of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, discuss the trend and path of the integration and development of traditional medicine and tourism industry under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, and the construction of the health tourism industry system, look forward to the vision of sustainable development and international cooperation of health tourism between China and ASEAN countries, and help build a closer China-ASEAN community of common destiny.

Zhang Xu, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, said in his speech that China and ASEAN countries are connected by mountains and rivers, blood and blood, friendly relations have a long history, and the two sides are each other's important tourist source and destination. The global outbreak of COVID-19 has had a serious impact on the world's tourism industry, including China and ASEAN countries. China's successful fight against COVID-19 proves that traditional Chinese medicine plays a very important role in the fight against COVID-19. In this context, it is of great practical significance to discuss the deepening of cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in traditional medicine and health tourism, promote the integration and development of traditional medicine and tourism, and enhance the health and well-being of people in all countries. Zhang Xu suggested that China and ASEAN countries should strengthen international tourism cooperation under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, jointly promote the integrated development of traditional medicine and tourism industry, and further deepen the China-ASEAN health tourism cooperation mechanism.
Huang Luqi, deputy director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, president of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, believed in his speech that traditional medicine is the reserve force and a strong needle for economic recovery. Traditional medicine contains the Chinese nation's thousands of years of health care concepts and practical experience, and is a great creation of the Chinese nation. As China's bright international business card and health messenger, Chinese medicine has become an important part of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the people-to-people connection of the "Belt and Road". Huang Luqi said that the concept of health tourism in Bama has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, today's international tourism experts and scholars, industry leaders gathered here, we must continue to do a good job in traditional medicine and health tourism, promote pragmatic cooperation to go deeper and more concrete, let health tourism boost confidence in global economic recovery, and draw a new blueprint for the cooperation and development of traditional medicine and health tourism.
Li Bin, vice chairman of Guangxi Autonomous Region, said that Guangxi attaches great importance to the development of traditional medicine and health tourism, based on the unique location advantages of "one bay to save eleven countries, benign interaction between the east, the middle and the west", relying on rich health tourism resources, made the strategic deployment of "building a strong cultural tourism zone" and "promoting the construction of healthy Guangxi", identified 26 Guangxi traditional Chinese medicine health tourism demonstration bases, and "four hundred" big health industry key cultivation projects (that is, to promote the construction of 100 health industry characteristic towns, 100 major health industry projects, 100 health industry demonstration bases, and 100 health industry leading enterprises have gradually built a "3+3" traditional medicine and health tourism industry system with traditional medicine, leisure and pension, and health tourism industry as the core, and radiation driving the linkage development of medical, sports and food industries.
