Of course, there was no shortage of dignified people in the Qing army, and in the Battle of Humen, Guan Tianpei, the admiral of the Guangdong Marine Division, led his soldiers to guard the fort day and night, fighting alone. "They repelled many attacks by the enemy, most of them died heroically, Guan Tianpei was seriously wounded, and still swung his sword to fight the enemy until he was martyred." In the Battle of Dinghai, Ge Yunfei, Wang Xipeng, and Zheng Guohong led their subordinates to use rudimentary weapons to stop the enemy's attack, and at the last moment, they all sacrificed their lives for the country.
However, the Gods and Buddhas could not defeat the guns of the foreigners, and the final result was that, on August 29, 1842, the Treaty of Nanking aboard the British warship Gao Huali: the cession of Hong Kong, the five ports of trade, the indemnity of 21 million silver taels (Spanish silver dollars), the tariff agreement.
Dao Guang's old age was silent, and he did not know where he was defeated until his death.
