Common Fire-crowned Daisy (scientific name: Regulus ignicapilla) Common Fire-crowned Daisy is a bird of the genus Daisy in the family Daisy, with a petite size similar to a willow warbler. It is commonly found in most temperate and subalpine coniferous forests, and inhabits the subsoil of coniferous forests. It is found at altitudes of 2,000 to 3,000 m in coniferous and montane forests. Its habitat range is much smaller than that of the golden-crowned daisy. Although there is a trend towards northward expansion, it is still concentrated in the southwest of Europe, except for the Mediterranean region of Western and Central Europe. The common fire-crowned daisy prefers coniferous forests and is also fairly common in any wooded broad-leaved forest, mixed forest, dense bush, bush park, swamp oak forest and evergreen wooded area. Feeds on insects. The sound is thin and high. It is often mixed with and other species. Descend to lower elevations in winter. Behavior is similar to that of the golden-crowned daisy, which can be added to flocks of and other small birds in winter. Bright head colors, in dense vegetation, can achieve a role of communication between members of the same species, especially during the breeding season. In France, this bird is a resident bird, but some species from Central Europe migrate to the coasts of the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and North Africa.
The breeding season runs from April to August. It is possible to have 1 to 2 litters per year. The common fire-crowned daisy would build an incredibly large nest with thick walls and an opening opening above the nest, which is made up of foam and plush vegetation, animal hair, cobwebs and feathers. It is placed on the main trunk or branch of the coniferous tree. The task of nesting will be completed by the female, while the male will only give simple support. White eggs are laid from July to September and hatch for 14 to 16 days.
