"Cao Yu, who can't finish talking, can't perform the endless "Thunderstorm". This time, we went back from the text to the original unredacted script in 1934, found the freshest and most original expression of Mr. Cao Yu that year, and excavated the original intention. Find action in literature, find stories, and let the audience see that there are many very interesting and possible differences from previous cognitions in familiar stories. Director Pu Cunxin introduced. For the main creator, the new row of "Thunderstorm" should not only tell a good story, but also reflect the author's humanistic care and deep excavation of human nature. Through the excavation of the details of the script, to establish and explain the relationship between the characters, let the audience more deeply feel the sympathy and compassion of the author behind the story.

In 1935, Cao Yu wrote in a letter: "I am writing a poem, a narrative poem,...... The poem does not have to be beautiful, but it must give the reader a constant new feeling. "According to Mr. Cao Yu's words, 'Thunderstorm' is by no means a social problem drama, but is very similar to the poetry created by the poet, which is the natural expression and expression need of the poet's emotions." Director Tang Ye therefore believes that the poetic expression on the stage is the core of this reinterpretation of the classic. "After literature becomes drama, poetry runs through it."
The new row of "Thunderstorm" will emphasize the poetic expression on the stage. The play will not only present the family scene of the Zhou Mansion through the romantic and freehand stage design, but also use the combination of virtual and real to make the real characters and the characters in the memories appear interspersed, and complete the unique narrative of the drama stage between time and space. "The flashes of Shi Ping and Zhou Puyuan on the stage thirty years ago take the audience to find fragments of memory." Pu Cunxin told the creative concept: on the one hand, it used symbolic techniques to set off the atmosphere of the characters and the plot; on the other hand, it was bold to leave blank space, and use a narrative method with clear lines to simplify the complex and simplify, leaving the audience with more space for thinking.

From the perspective of the history of Chinese drama, "Thunderstorm" is like a dose of tonic, announcing the maturity of modern Chinese drama. As the Theater Troupe founded by Mr. Cao Yu, Beijing Renyi has staged four versions of "Thunderstorm" (respectively, 1954 edition, 1979 edition, 1989 edition and 2004 edition) since the beginning of the establishment of the academy, attracting generations of theater audiences - just in April this year, "Thunderstorm" ushered in the 600th performance at the Capital Theatre.
