At the Tokyo Olympics, Lin Chaopan also supported the sky of the Chinese gymnastics boy band like a superman. Lin Chaopan said that he liked Mayday's "Stubborn". Fighting the Olympics again is also his "stubbornness".

After encountering the "Waterloo" that did not win a gold in the Rio Olympic Games, the Chinese gymnastics team tried to be bold after 5 years of lying down and looking forward to playing an Olympic turnaround battle in Tokyo.

The Chinese gymnastics men's team is composed of the main lineup of the 2018 and 2019 Gymnastics World Championships, Xiao Ruoteng, Zou Jingyuan, Sun Wei and Lin Chaopan have rich experience in the four-person competition, but the Tokyo Olympic Games is undoubtedly an uphill battle.

Lin Chaopan was born in An ordinary family in Chendai, Jinjiang, where his parents ran a shoelace processing factory with a history of more than 20 years.

The traditional parents naturally want their sons to study well. However, in 1999, Lin Chaopan, a kindergarten middle school student, visited the Quanzhou gymnastics team during the autumn tour, but it changed the trajectory of his life. "The eyes are spiritual, and he is a good seedling for practicing gymnastics." Enlightenment coach Shi Boping said this about Lin Chaopan. Under his persuasion, Lin Chaopan soon embarked on the road of gymnastics.

The 2003 Fujian Gymnastics Championships was Lin Chaopan's first major competition, and he successfully won medals in some events. Since that year, he has won back trophies in various competitions almost every year: the second place in the men's group B vault in the "Li Ning Cup" National Children's Gymnastics Competition in 2004, the 2006 Provincial Games for the Quanzhou team to win 2 gold and 6 silver, the 2007 "Li Ning Cup" National Children's Gymnastics Competition won the vault and parallel bars double champion and all-around third place...

Lin Chaopan's outstanding performance attracted the attention of the national gymnastics team. In March 2008, Lin Chaopan was successfully selected into the national gymnastics training team and became the rear candidate of the national gymnastics team. "There are the best gymnasts from all over the country, and everyone is something I learn from." Lin Chaopan said.

The dream of the Olympics thus shone into reality.

"I never thought about giving up"

If you want to enter the Olympic Games, Lin Chaopan also needs to prove himself.

Since 2010, Lin Chaopan has successively stood on the podium of the National Youth Championship, the National City Games, the Asian Youth Championships and other events. Especially at the 2013 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, Lin Chaopan was a blockbuster, tied for the championship with the "all-around king" Uchimura Hangping in the parallel bars final; a year later in Nanning, he and his teammates defended the world team championship for Chinese men's gymnastics...

However, it is surprising and regrettable that after a period of time, Lin Chaopan was once silent, and he went out with the team in the World Series, but he always experienced "a round of travel" and often missed the single final.

The real strong are good at finding shadows in good times, finding light in bad times, and always calibrating their goals for progress. "I never thought about giving up. Maybe many people will think that you can't do it, and you say no, that's your business, but it doesn't mean that I really can't do it. Lin Chaopan said.

Every Sunday morning is a fixed rest time for the team, and he will come to the gym alone and practice silently. After a winter training, Lin Chaopan rearranged the free exercises, increased the difficulty of parallel bars, and suddenly increased the starting score of the all-round by 0.5.

In May 2016, Lin Chaopan won two gold medals in the men's all-around and parallel bars at the National Gymnastics Championships. Three months later, Lin Chaopan came to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the team.

"Where there is determination, there is strength"

"The night before the game was particularly difficult and couldn't sleep. The heart beats particularly fast and the hands and feet sweat. "On his first Olympic trip, Lin Chaopan was not easy.

However, on the biggest competitive stage, his hard work and performance left a deep impression. In the men's team final, Lin Chaopan appeared in five events: free gymnastics, pommel horse, vaulting, parallel bars and horizontal bar, and finally helped the Chinese team win the bronze medal.

This is the first Olympic gymnastics medal in Fujian. Two days later, he finished fifth in the men's individual all-around final, just 0.411 points away from the podium.

Although a historic breakthrough was achieved for Fujian gymnastics, Lin Chaopan was not satisfied, and even had some regrets. "Four years from now, we'll fight the Olympics again!" This is the oath that Lin Chaopan left when he left Rio.

In the two years since then, Lin Chaopan has continued to maintain a good momentum in international and domestic competitions. At the Tianjin National Games, he won the all-around championship; at the Jakarta Asian Games, he not only won the men's individual all-around gold medal with 86.750 points, but also defeated his old rival Japan with his teammates to win the men's team championship.
