Nesta was plagued by injuries in his final years against Milan, but he still achieved the only double of his career against Chievo, and in the 2000-2001 season AC Milan once again dominated Serie A, winning the Serie A two rounds earlier.
On 6 August 2011, Nesta helped AC Milan win the Italian Super Cup in a 2–1 victory over Inter Milan at the National Stadium in Beijing, leaving the memory of the last European title in Beijing.
