Chen Baozhu and Xiao Fangfang's co-production of the movie "Color Youth", a hit, pushed the two to the peak of their careers.

Due to the gradual decline of Cantonese films, he went to the United States to study after Chen Baozhu's film in 1970. During his studies, Chen Baozhu was introduced by a friend to Yang Zhanmei, the son of Yang Fusheng, a Hong Kong department store magnate, and the two married and gave birth to a son, Yang Tianjing, but in 1982 the two divorced.
In 1997, Chen Baozhu participated in the TVB variety show hosted by Shen Dianxia, which became her debut after many years of filming, after which she re-entered the stage and performed Cantonese opera. In recent years, Chan has lived in Hong Kong with his family and often participates in stage performances.
