Ethan Hawke.
The 50-year-old "Love In" series of screen gods is consolidating his other identity - a novelist. Recently featured on the cover of AVENA magazine in the form of Leonard Cohen, he talked about his new novel, A Bright Ray of Darkness.
This is his third novel, featuring a 32-year-old man named William Harding, who was caught in tabloid cheating on a woman and betraying his rock star wife, who had to face an embarrassing life, staying in a dilapidated little hotel, but preparing to perform Shakespeare's Henry IV on Broadway.
Although it is a fictional story, it is hard not to think of the marriage between Ethan and Uma Thurman. The two married in 1998, separated in 2003 and formally divorced in 2005. The age in marriage is similar to that of the protagonist of the novel.
Ethan also admits to projecting a lot of his own experiences and feelings on the characters, and choosing an actor as the protagonist of his work, Ethan compares this to Becoming Melville's "Moby Dick" (Melville was a seafarer), starting from his familiar profession, it would be more comfortable.
Last year Ethan starred, wrote and executive produced the drama "The Good Lord Bird," based on the 2013 National Book Award-winning novel of the same name by writer James McBride, who loved the original and was "so jealous that someone had written such a beautiful and wise book."
Ethan has four children, two with Uma Thurman (the eldest daughter is maya Hawke, who has already made her debut) and two with his second wife, Ryan Shawhughes. He's not yet sure if he should let kids read books he's written.
Dark Light cover, quite concise.
A group of his 2018 photo blockbusters were the promotional period for his screenwriting and directing film "Keep a Song in Your Heart". Handsome is a word.
