In the past few days, Zhao Shu'e, who lives in the Nanyuan community of Haizhou Street, is busy cutting windows for relatives and friends who come to her home to embroider flowers, sometimes picking up scissors and "wandering" quickly on paper, and sometimes using carving knives to carve finely. And her 86-year-old Pei Jianzhong, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, will "Fu" for a while, and more than a dozen Fuzi characters will soon be "robbed" by relatives and friends.

The octogenarian pair are well-known literary and artistic masters in the community. His wife, Zhao Shu'e, is a master paper-cutting artist, who has been teaching herself to cut paper since 1997 and has cut complex works of art such as the Four Great Beauties of Ancient China and the Beijing Olympics, while her husband Pei Jianzhong, who was a former middle school Chinese teacher, has been practicing calligraphy for more than 30 years after retirement.
Every Spring Festival, the couple ushered in the busiest day of the year: the couple worked together, not only playing the residual heat on the community activity stage, but also in the movement of relatives and friends, if anyone asked, they would distribute the window flowers and calligraphy works they had prepared in advance. The couple's hearts are sweet, and this sweetness is the taste of the New Year.
"I love magpies and plum blossoms, and I have to use red paper to cut out festive and blessed for the New Year." Zhao Shu'e said that in previous years, she would cut window flowers related to the zodiac, cut the dog last year, and this year's relatives and friends said that the year of the pig should be cut, so the previous month, she has been thinking about how to cut the pig out of the new. "I wanted to cut out the image of the pig to a deeper meaning, so I cut a peace fruit, and there was a fu character in the middle of the peace fruit, and the fu character used the frame of the text to cut out the shape of the pig. I wish you all a Happy New Year and a safe season. Zhao Shu'e said with a smile.
Opening Zhao Shu'e's portfolio, a series of creative paper-cut works jumped on the paper: there were festive "Fu" characters, there were cute zodiac pigs, and peach blossoms full of spring... Among them, the most eye-catching is undoubtedly this picture of the Year of the Pig zodiac, Zhao Shu'e named it "Four Seasons of Peace", which also contains an old man's silent blessing to the people around him.
"It takes a day to cut this work. In a month, I cut twenty or so pigs, basically all of which were given to friends and relatives, and only left three of them myself. Zhao Shu'e held her wife's hands and told reporters with a smile that she cut flowers and paper to welcome the spring breeze and rejoice in the New Year.
