Old Ximen, 500 years old, is one of the birthplaces of Shanghai's old city box, with profound historical heritage and rich cultural resources. The Temple of Literature was overhauled, the total construction area of the renovation and expansion project reached 13162.14 square meters, the illegal construction was demolished, and the new Zhidao Shuzhai, Guande Hall, Zunjing Pavilion were built... Restore the traditional regulatory layout of the West Temple Axis and the East School Axis of the Temple of Literature. After the overhaul, the original regulations of the Temple of Literature were restored, the historical buildings and the surrounding Shikumen houses were reflected in each other, and the characteristic blocks of the Temple of Literature were naturally formed.
Importantly, urban renewal and the overhaul of the ancient Temple of Literature are not just an old building renovated and expanded, but a new exploration of a "senior neighborhood" in the context of the modernization of community governance - so that urban renewal not only inherits the historical context, but also innovates the governance system and improves the governance capacity.
In the past 15 years, in the Temple of Literature, the most memorable neighborhood activities are the New Year Festival Competition and the Dragon Boat Poetry Festival.
Poetry, exactly, what is it? Confucius said: Three hundred poems, the wind and grace, can be happy, can be observed, can be grouped, can complain.
It can be seen that Chinese poetry has always been meteorological and eclectic. Poetry can be the expression of emotions, expressing joy and sorrow; it can also be the purification of sentiments and the feelings of home and country. In this sense, Yang Lian is also a kind of poetry. Therefore, whether it is the New Year or the Dragon Boat Festival, the Temple of Literature is dedicated to people, and it is a poetry meeting.
For 15 years, in the Temple of Literature, the Old Ximen YangLian Competition, see you every year. Based on the Shanghai Confucian Temple, the competition sang the main melody, gathered positive energy, and collected more than 50,000 works from The League, thousands of people participated, from all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as California, Sydney, Australia and other places. Popularize the culture of The Union of The Union of The People's Republic of China, the old Ximen "Send Blessings to the League" into the community, into the building, into the subway, into the barracks, hold cross-strait cultural exchange activities, and set up the School and Salon of the Union of The League. Laoximen Street was named the first "China Yuelian Cultural Community" by the China Yuelian Society. The Yanglian Competition and the Dragon Boat Poetry Festival have also become the "cultural business cards" of the Wenmiao Neighborhood.
Today, the core key to the governance of the Wenmiao neighborhood is to take the leadership of party building and the cohesion of culture, fully excavate the cultural resources of the neighborhood, inherit and carry forward the excellent history and culture, and make a modern neighborhood full of fresh vitality and full of vivid charm. One goal is that walking through the wenmiao neighborhood, what comes to the surface is a cultural identity that does not violate the sense of harmony - the same root of culture, the same place in the region, the same home; accompanied by the sense of identity, the sense of gain, happiness, and security, born and grow.
