The Daily Mail reported on Oct. 17 that a brown bear attacked a pregnant animal trainer during a beast taming performance at a Circus in Russia. The tamer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was fortunately not in serious trouble, and the brown bear was later banned from the show.
It happened in Oryol, 225 miles (about 360 kilometers) south of Moscow, when the circus was performing, and a brown bear on the stage suddenly began to bite the pregnant female trainer, and two other men immediately rushed to save her. The female animal trainer was then taken to hospital.
The female trainer was scratched and slightly bruised, but fortunately the fetus was not affected. She thinks the brown bear attack may be a "jealous" child in the belly. "Maybe in some way out of jealousy, because I'm pregnant. At the moment, the bear behaved as kindly as ever to me, as if nothing had happened. She said.

The bear has now been banned from the show, and Russian authorities have launched an investigation into the attack.
