He was violent, hot-tempered, did not like to talk, and rarely smiled, and the students were afraid of him. But he was kind-hearted, the students made mistakes, and when the class leader fought, he came forward to persuade him, and then he "lifted high and fell gently" to secretly protect these students. He does not smoke, does not drink, and is alone, after being paid, in addition to eating by himself, he will spend the rest of the money to help Shen Fengmei, who studied drama in the class.

In 1956, the first opera performance in Henan Province, Shen Fengmei performed "Harvest Jiang Wei", and Li Daxun played Wei Yan. In 1963, he entered Beijing to perform "Zhuge Liang Hanging Filial Piety", and Li Daxun played Zhang Fei. In order to help Shen Fengmei play Zhuge Liang well, he often read the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" at home, and also studied the Books of the Three Kingdoms with Shen Fengmei, went to the countryside to perform, and often collected legends about Zhuge Liang. The couple had a complete collection of the story of "Zhuge Liang Marrying an Ugly Woman", which was originally intended to be made into a play, but it could not be realized due to the "Cultural Revolution".
During the "Cultural Revolution," Shen Fengmei was branded a "big drama bully" and a "bourgeois roader," and Li Daxun was also affected. Some people forced him to draw a line with Shen Fengmei and forced him to expose Shen's problems, but he did not give in. Seeing that his wife was persecuted and unable to act, Li Daxun often wept alone, and his spirit was deeply stimulated, so that after the "Cultural Revolution", he was sluggish and could no longer perform on stage.

In 1979, Shen Fengmei performed "Zhuge Liang Hanging Filial Piety" in Zhengzhou, suffering from myocardial infarction and falling on the stage that time, in order to make Li Daxun anxious in the middle of the break, he endured the discomfort and swallowed the bowl of poached eggs hard.
In order to get rid of Li Daxun's illness, Shen Fengmei sought medical treatment everywhere. Others advised her to "be cured, will not speak again, you should not seek medical treatment everywhere." Shen Fengmei said, "As long as he lives for one day, I will ask for a day, I am looking forward to such a day, he recovered his voice and sang on the same stage with me!" ”
Li Daxun heard that Shen Fengmei's "Zhuge Liang Hanging Filial Piety" was going to make a movie, and as long as someone came to see him, he pointed to the TV set and asked if the movie had started. When Shen Fengmei returned home from the performance, he pointed to himself, to the TV, to Shen Fengmei, meaning to see the movie she played.
One morning in the early summer of 1980, Li Daxun suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrhage again and died. At that time, Shen Fengmei was rushing to rehearse the "Mirror Record". She cried bitterly.
After Li Daxun's death, the bottle of Moutai wine he bought before his death, Shen Fengmei was reluctant to drink, has been treasured, often take it out to see. Every Chinese New Year's Eve night, take out Li Daxun's urn, put it in the house, pour three glasses of wine, put a plate of dumplings, bow deeply three times, and cry while saying, "Daxun, it's the end of the New Year again, you love to drink, just drink a few cups."
