Miles: When James first came into the league, I played point guard, and I wondered why not let him play?

Former NBA player Darius Miles recently gave an interview to review his experience as a teammate with Lakers forward LeBron James in his Rookie Season for the Cavaliers.

"When you get LeBron James, you build talent around him. There was LeBron, me, Ricky (Davis), Boozell, Big Z (Ilgoskas). We also have Dajuan Wagner coming off the bench. Plus more puzzles – we're good at it. However, they don't know what to do. Miles said.

Miles said he was in favor of then-Cavaliers coach Paul Silas, but the team's system could not succeed.

"I started playing point guards," Miles said, "and Sprewell cut my ball at halftime because I was doing those tricks of the point guard, dribbling around." I thought, why the fuck am I playing point guard? Why not let LeBron play point guard? They were afraid to hand the ball into his hands so early. ”

"We played in the Jazz's offensive style. That slowed me down too much and slowed us all down because it was me, LeBron and Riggy, who were holding the ball. You can't run up and play fast; I can't push forward, I have to stop and start organizing the offense, I have to wait for the inside players to run up front and then back to the free throw line — you're all going to out. I can dribble, but this damn way of playing. They don't understand. Miles said.
