Hello everyone, I am Zhang Wei of the Education Bureau of Weiyang District of Xi'an City, transferred from other places to Xi'an City in 1992, became a cadre of the education system of Weiyang District, opened his 30 years in the city, exerted his youth and sweat for the cause of Weiyang Education, harvested growth and touch, participated in and witnessed the development and change of education in the city.
When I first arrived in Weiyang District, the education fund investment in the whole district was less than 20 million yuan, and there were only a few two-story buildings and brick and wood bungalows in the school, which were cold in winter and hot in summer, and there was water everywhere on the campus when it rained. In order to improve the teaching environment and narrow the gap with advanced areas, Weiyang District has continuously increased investment in education, and since 2008, it has invested nearly 3 billion yuan to implement the standardization of compulsory education schools, and has built, renovated and expanded 110 primary and secondary schools, taking the lead in achieving the basic balance of compulsory education in the city. The conditions for running schools have been continuously improved, teaching management has been continuously improved, and the quality of education has been steadily improved. Parents have also completely changed their understanding of Weiyang education from the past to find ways to send their children to the city to school, and now there are good schools at their doorstep.
After I was transferred to the work of education supervision, I deeply realized that education supervision is an important task to ensure and improve the quality of education, so I worked overtime with my colleagues to learn policies, learn advanced, run schools, and conduct research. I remember that in August 2017, we worked overtime in the office to review the supervision and evaluation materials, and everyone immersed themselves in the work, until when they walked out of the door of the unit at night and saw the crowds gathered on the road, they knew that there was another earthquake in a neighboring province. After more than three years of wholehearted dedication and dedication, we have gradually explored and established a special supervision and evaluation model of school self-assessment, self-diagnosis, self-development, on-site supervision and evaluation of school supervision, regular supervision of responsible supervision, discipline monitoring, resident help, and parent satisfaction evaluation. At present, the number of outstanding schools for quality education and quality improvement at the provincial level has increased from 3 in 2013 to 18, ranking among the top in the province. When evaluating schools, looking at the results of parent satisfaction in online assessments and listening to the praise of teachers, students and parents, I sincerely feel that even ordinary positions have extraordinary value.
In the past 30 years, I have gone from a fledgling ambitious young man to an old and well-trained expert, and Xi'an education has never stopped from popularizing nine-year compulsory education to achieving basic balance, from the increasing number of schools to the expansion of high-quality resources. At present, Xi'an education is making every effort to promote the high-quality balance of compulsory education and the universal and inclusive of preschool education, which requires our education supervisors to swoop down, sink their hearts, and walk closely to the ground, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of this city full of warmth and stories.
