As for the prisoners after the battle, our side also administered them in strict accordance with the Treaty of Geneva.

So I was also wary of my volunteers, afraid of being executed in secret or sent to Siberia to grow potatoes. Often plotting to escape. It caused us a lot of trouble.
But our volunteer army has always been a division of benevolence and righteousness. We strictly observe political discipline and adopt a friendly attitude toward our captives, not killing, dishonoring, or abusing them, and treating them with treatment and preferential treatment. For a long time, this made the prisoners gradually change their minds, let down their guard, and take the initiative to cooperate with the logistics of the volunteer army.
For some prisoners of war who had a strong intention of returning to the troops, our side also actively communicated with the superior leaders and agreed, held a farewell party for these prisoners of war, and personally drove them to the blockade line so that they could return home.
Those prisoners of war who returned to the army were not treated like heroes of the imaginary troops, and the U.S. military commanders were very wary of these prisoners of war who were full of red light and returned safely.
And secretly monitor and exclude them. This made them dissatisfied, so the returning prisoners of war began to spontaneously and secretly propagate the policy of preferential treatment of prisoners of war by the volunteer army, and taught them a few lame Chinese that could be used in the event of surrender. On the night of December 1, 1950, a platoon commander of the 338th Regiment of our army was ordered to count the enemy's scattered troops on the battlefield.
A U.S. soldier lying on the ground pretending to be dead luckily escaped the platoon leader's interrogation, and he secretly opened his eyes and cat for a moment: his clothes were worn, and he was wrapped in fried noodle bags, yes, it was a Chinese volunteer army!
He stood up with a straight rub, raised his hands high, and shouted: Surrender! I'm going to surrender! I am a captive!
It directly startled our platoon leader.
At the same time, this man also kicked the teammate who pretended to be dead next to him: get up, don't pretend, this is a volunteer army, not a North Korean soldier!
As a result, in less than a few moments, more than a dozen captives pretending to be dead were climbed up in succession, and they spontaneously raised their hands and waited for our captives
In this way, by 1952, the Volunteer Army's Bitong Prisoner of War Camp had received more than 1,000 prisoners of war, directly bringing together all 17 countries participating in the war.
In order to take care of these prisoners of war, we provided them with shelter and food according to the different beliefs of different countries.
Eat well and drink well for prisoners of war
These prisoners of war ate well and drank well, and the holidays at home and abroad were not left behind, and when there was nothing to do, they went to study Mao Xuan, skated, played basketball, and were very comfortable.

It was a white American boxer named Garcia who stole cooking wine from the kitchen before the game in order to win the championship, and was later reported by the black players of the same team and was punished for sweeping the pigsty for a month.

The propaganda of Frank Knoll's photograph also made the world re-recognize this Chinese volunteer army full of human brilliance, giving us an advantage in the moral high ground, thus correcting the public opinion of the war.
With the continuous bloody fighting of our volunteers on the front line and the growing anti-war sentiment within the coalition army, finally, on July 27, 1953, The United States and the DPRK signed an armistice agreement, and the Korean War came to an end.
