On the 20th local time, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom spent the night in a hospital to "undergo preliminary examination". She had previously abruptly cancelled her trip to Northern Ireland this week.

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news on the 21st, Buckingham Palace said on the same day that the 95-year-old Queen of England entered the hospital on the 20th and returned to Windsor Castle on the 21st.

"The Queen went to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary check-ups and returned to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today in good spirits. I am taking a few days off as recommended by my doctor. Buckingham Palace wrote in the statement.

Buckingham Palace previously said she was scheduled to attend a church service in Armagh, Northern Ireland, on the 21st to commemorate the centenary of the partition of Ireland, but eventually "reluctantly" accepted medical guidance, leading to the cancellation of the trip.
