At 7:06 on September 3, Jiashan officially released the news that at 16:06 on the same day, the workshop of Jiashan Shuangjie Sponge Co., Ltd. in the development zone (Huimin Street) caught fire, and 6 employees were missing.
Zhou Quanfu recalled that the road on Huimin Road was very narrow, and the fire truck could not drive in time, and the police car was always parked next to it. Without water, the fire is very large and it is difficult to carry out rescue.
At about 11 o'clock that night, the Jimu News reporter saw about 500 meters away from the scene of the incident that a fire water truck was pumping water into the accident enterprise with a water pipe, and a number of police cars and fire trucks were parked on both sides of the road.

Another source familiar with the matter told Jimu News that she and the wife of one of the victims were colleagues. The victim was in his 60s and his wife took leave after the accident. She also learned later that no one around her now wanted to mention this matter again.
The person familiar with the matter also revealed that the local workshops that are too small have been eliminated almost everywhere, and although the number of Shuangjie Sponge Company is not large, it is not a "small workshop" in the traditional sense, and the equipment is also mechanized.
