After the wonderful premiere and re-performance of Shache's large-scale original musical "The Legend of Amani Shahan" on September 1, 2016 at the Muqam Film Theater, it was carefully evaluated and arranged by experts such as the Shanghai Theater Academy and the Authoritative Art Center, and premiered at the Shanghai Theater Academy on the evening of October 16. Amani Shahan, Amani Shahan. On October 16, 2016, Xinjiang Shache's large-scale musical "The Legend of Amani Shahan" opened its premiere at the Shanghai Theater Academy.
The musical "The Legend of Amani Shahan" travels through 500 years of history and recreates the legendary life of Amani Shahan in the language of music. When Amani Shahan was confused in collecting, sorting out and composing the Twelve Muqams, the music was like a beacon to show her the way; when she was depressed, poetry like war drums excited her; in times of pain, art was like a good medicine to comfort her and the hearts of the people of this land...
Some people say that in Shache, 8 out of 10 people can sing Muqam, 9 people can dance Mai Xi Laifu, which is not an exaggeration, known as the "Pearl of the Silk Road", "Twelve Muqam", in its unique way to record the progress of Western civilization.
Born into a family of ordinary woodcutters, Amani Shahan was intelligent from an early age and could sing poetry at the age of 13. This drama tells the story of a beautiful woman who meets a beautiful love, and "Twelve Mukam" also ushered in its own spring. Legend has it that Rashid Khan met this beautiful girl with outstanding talent, and the girl's talent deeply touched Rashid Khan, and the two fell in love at first sight and married each other. After Amani Shahan entered the court, with a love for folk music, he germinated the idea of excavating and sorting out various muqams, but at that time, the requirements for women were very strict, and Amani Shahan did not give in to the resistance of various forces, and Rashid Khan and the vast number of Uyghur people also became her strong backing. Rashid Khan also invited the court musician Qadir Khan and other artists to assist her, and with the joint efforts of Amani Shahan and folk artists, she completed the collation of the twelve muqams.
In terms of form and content, Amani Shahan eliminated the old content with strong religious overtones before, and then absorbed the essence of Uyghur folk songs and dances, and the style became refreshing, elegant and beautiful, and the lyrics and content were closer to the people's life and true feelings. Amani Shahan gave the Twelve Muqams a new vitality and new theme, and the Twelve Muqams were sublimated into a large-scale epic that comprehensively reflected the lives of the Uyghur people.
At the age of 34, Amani Shahan died of dystocia. Rajd Khan, who had lived with her for twenty years, was devastated and fell ill with his wife, and two years later he disappeared with her. In accordance with Rashid Khan's last wishes, he was buried next to the tomb of Amani Shahan. This love story was also recited by posterity along with the circulation of the Twelve Muqams.
She was the daughter of a woodcutter, she was a beautiful woman, she was a famous poet, she was a great musician, she was also the princess of Yarkand. 34 years is short, 34 years are glorious, in her only 34 years, full of water in the Yarkand River, with reeds as a pen, with true feelings to compose poems, with life to sing, leaving for the Uyghurs, for the Chinese nation twelve Muqam (suite) and "Naifei poems" and other poetry collections.
Today, Xinjiang's "Twelve Muqams" has also become a world intangible cultural heritage. Its success is due to the smooth flow of Eastern and Western cultures created by the "Silk Road", as well as the "Silk Road Spirit" where residents are tolerant and actively pursue a better life. These gorgeous movements flowing with the Yerkand River have also become a welcome prelude to Xinjiang's opening up to the outside world today.
The musical "The Legend of Amani Shahan" is one of the important projects of Shanghai's cultural assistance to Xinjiang, which is sponsored by the Shache County Party Committee and the County People's Government, and undertaken by the Shache Branch of the Shanghai Municipal Counterpart Support Xinjiang Forward Command, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Shache County Committee, and the Shanghai Foreign Cultural Exchange Co., Ltd.
