Virginia Deputy Sheriff Jon Holt is hailed as a hero who, in the face of an emergency, single-handedly lifts a capsized SUV to rescue the woman trapped in the car.
A statement from the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office said that on May 7, local time, in Gloucester County, Virginia, Deputy Sheriff Jon Holt went to deal with a rollover accident, a female driver was trapped in the car, her head was pressed by a skylight, and her child was crying in the car.
Seeing the police coming, the child shouted, "She can't breathe, she can't breathe." Holt acted quickly, and because the situation was urgent, he lifted the nearly 1.6-ton car with all his strength in order to make the driver turn his head for follow-up rescue. Fortunately, Holt succeeded.
The woman, Channel Elle Parker, 50, is currently charged with drunk driving and hit-and-run.
