Wuxi County Chamber of Commerce, formerly known as Sikkim Chamber of Commerce, was founded by national capitalists and Chinese industrial and commercial giants Zhou Shunqing and Zhu Dachun. In 1912, Wuxi County and Jinkui County were merged, and the Chamber of Commerce was renamed Wuxi County Chamber of Commerce. The Wuxi County Chamber of Commerce now has two two-storey brick and wood office buildings built in 1915, which are elegant and beautiful. The former site of the Wuxi County Chamber of Commerce was announced as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2013.

After the launch of the "Three-year Action Plan for the Protection of Cultural Relics in Wuxi City (2018-2020)", the repair and maintenance of the former site of the Wuxi County Chamber of Commerce was carried out. The repair and maintenance project lasted for 2 years, and a special fund of 2.196 million yuan was invested to demolish the suspended ceiling and partition wall added in the later period and restore the original state of the building. The rafters, lookout boards and tiles of the damaged roof were replaced, and a waterproof layer and a drainage system consisting of a gutter and a downspout were added. Some of the walls with severe weathering are repaired, and the line foot tiles and decorative tiles are restored as they are and sprayed with waterproof agent to better protect the building body from rain erosion and weathering.
