Remember still? Loyal souls everywhere, heroic martyrs sleeping, Qingming sacrifices, who still remembers? It is another year of Qingming Festival, paying tribute to the ancestors, remembering the martyrs, and how many people still remember the stories of these heroes.
Looking back on the past, people will not forget that in that chaotic duckweed era, how many loyal souls have gradually been lost into history. Today, with great reverence, we sing the memories that cannot be forgotten and tell you their stories again.
Qingming Festival! You know their story?
Beheading doesn't matter, as long as the doctrine is true — Xia Minghan
In the spring of 1928, Xia Minghan disguised himself as a businessman and secretly came to Wuhan to work. It was a time when the White Terror was so severe. Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei colluded to massacre the Communists and revolutionary people. As a result of the traitor's whistle-blowing, Xia Minghan was arrested.
The enemy imprisoned Xia Minghan and first persuaded him to "surrender," saying that as long as he gave up his belief in communism, he would not be able to treat him badly. Xia Minghan replied unequivocally, "I can sacrifice my life and never give up my faith!" So the enemy hardened him again, exhausted all kinds of criminal laws, and tortured him to the point that he was scaly and bruised, and his flesh and blood were blurred. But for Xia Minghan, who had communist ideals in his heart, the pain of his flesh and skin could not shake his strong will to revolution.
The enemy really had no way to deal with Xia Minghan and decided to kill him.
When the enemy escorted Xia Minghan to the execution ground, Xia Minghan held his head high, straightened his chest, and strode forward while singing the Internationale. The enemy was anxious and asked him, "What else do you have to say?" ”
Xia Minghan shouted, "Bring me paper!" ”
Xia Minghan took the pen and paper. After a little thought, he immediately smiled, grabbed his pen and wrote a poem: "It doesn't matter if you behead, as long as the doctrine is true." Killed Xia Minghan, and later people. Then he threw the pen hard to the ground, heroic and righteous.
May the head be sacrificed to protect China - Cheng Xiong
Cheng Xiong joined the Communist Party of China in 1938. In November 1939, he joined the Jiangbei Guerrilla Column of the New Fourth Army. In May 1940, Cheng Xiong was assigned to the 13th Regiment of the 5th Brigade of the 2nd Division of the New Fourth Army, and before leaving, he left the first letter to his parents, expressing his consciousness of sacrificing for the country and the nation, as well as the regret of not being able to fulfill his filial piety. Three months after the second letter was sent, the blood stained the battlefield and fulfilled his promise with action.
In the summer of 1937, Cheng Xiong graduated from a higher primary school and wanted to continue his education, but because his family was poor and had no money, he could not realize his desire to learn, and his heart was very heavy. One night, he left home and wrote a hasty letter, which began with the words: "Loving parents, because their families are poor and have no money to go to school, are determined to leave their hometown, go far away, and look for the light, which is a very sinful!" What a sin! ......”
In the summer of 1938, the 26th Working Group directly under the Anhui Provincial Mobilization Committee of the Fifth Theater arrived in Dianqian Town to carry out anti-Japanese propaganda to save the dead. Cheng Xiong, who had been waiting for a long time, immediately signed up and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year.
In May 1940, Cheng Xiong was assigned to the 2nd Company of the 2nd Battalion, 13th Regiment, 5th Brigade, 2nd Division of the New Fourth Army as deputy political instructor and secretary of the party branch. Before leaving, he wrote another family letter to his parents, from which he could see that he was ready to sacrifice for the country and the nation, and at the same time blamed himself for not being able to fulfill his parents' filial piety: "Now I will leave Dabie Mountain, go to the forefront to destroy the enemy, defend China, and hope that my parents will not be sad and worried." The birth of a son for greatness, and the glorious death, is my last will as a son, and the sin is great! What a sin! The "sin" of confessing to his parents is almost the same as the letter he wrote when he ran away from home, which echoes his revolutionary career from beginning to end, and also marks the maturity and transformation of a patriotic young man.
In August 1943, the 13th Regiment of the 5th Brigade of the 2nd Division of the New Fourth Army and the guard battalion of the local armed southeast brigade marched from Yijian in Anhui Province to Liuhe and Yizheng in Jiangsu Province to defend the autumn harvest, and waited for the opportunity to strike at the invading Japanese army. At this critical moment, Dong Wanyin, commander of the Second Battalion, ordered Cheng Xiong, the commander of the company, to lead his troops and the enemy to seize the Ding family mountain. After repeated battles, our army finally seized Dingjiashan and completed the task assigned by the superiors, but the company commander Cheng Xiong was martyred in the battle at the age of 24.
Sacrificing his body to go to the country is difficult, and he sees death as a sudden return - Zhang Zizhong
In April 1940, the Japanese army once again concentrated 300,000 troops to invade the Suixian and Zaoyang areas in northern Hubei. Zhang Zizhong personally led the only 2 remaining regiments plus the special agent battalion directly under the General Headquarters to cross the river. On May 1, Zhang Zizhong personally issued an edict to the generals of his department:
"Looking at the recent situation, the enemy may touch the nail again, and as long as the enemy comes to attack, the brother will go to Hedong to sacrifice with the brother and so on." The country has reached such a point that there is no other way but for me to die for it. I believe even more that as long as I can make this determination, our country and the nation of our five thousand years of history will never die at the hands of the three island slaves. The determination to die for the country and the nation is unclear, the stone is not rotten, and it will never change in the slightest. May it be encouraged with all the brothers. ”
On the evening of May 6, Zhang Zizhong personally left a will to the deputy commander-in-chief Feng Zhi'an, saying: "Because of the relationship between the all-round war in the theater and its own responsibilities, we must cross the river to fight with the enemy, and now we have decided to march to the east bank of the Xiang River tonight, and when we get to the east of the river, if we can get in touch with the 38th Division and the 179th Division, I will lead the two units to fight the enemy in the north at all costs." If there is no contact with the 38th and 179th Divisions, we will take three regiments and march north towards our ultimate goal (death). Whether good or bad, we must ask our conscience to be comforted, and in the future, both public and private will have to ask my brother to be responsible. From now on, it is not known whether it will be parted or forever." After Zhang Zizhong led 2 regiments and 1 special service battalion with a total of more than 2,000 people crossing the Xiang River in the east, he attacked bravely all the way and cut off the Japanese 13th Division at Fangjiaji, and the Japanese army besieged Zhang Bu with superior troops.
At 2:00 p.m. on 16 May, Zhang Zizhong was left with only 8 people, including senior staff officer Zhang Jing and adjutant Ma Xiaotang, who took out his pen and wrote the last hundred words of a report to the theater command, handed it to Ma Xiaotang, and left a last word: "I died in battle, asking myself whether I am worthy of the country and the nation, and you should work hard to kill the enemy and not live up to my aspirations." During the fierce battle, Zhang Zizhong was hit by a Japanese machine gun bullet and fell in a pool of blood. In order not to be captured by the Japanese, he raised his gun and killed himself. A generation of famous generals, heroic martyrdom.

According to incomplete statistics, about 20 million martyrs have heroically sacrificed for national independence, people's liberation, national prosperity and strength, and people's happiness. We cannot enumerate their deeds.
It is another year of rain during the Qingming Dynasty, and on this day of mourning and remembrance, please let me light the lamp for the martyr's affection and gently wipe the tears for the martyr's family.
No matter how time passes, the hero is never far away, and we still have you in our world.
