As the number one seed in the mixed doubles, Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping met the Dutch Taberlinger/Pique in their first match. After the opening of the match, Wang Yilu and Huang Dongping were full of momentum and soon led 5-0, 11-1. The Yellow Ducks were in full control of the situation in the ensuing match, and they continued to extend their advantage to take a 21-6 lead. In the second set, Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping scored seven consecutive starts, after which they suppressed their opponents to maintain a big lead, 21-7, and they won 2-0 in the next city.
In the men's doubles, Di Zijian/Wang Chang only resisted for 31 minutes before losing 0-2 (6-21, 19-21) to Indonesia's Fikri/Maulana.
In the men's singles match, top seed Japan's Kento Momota defeated France's Popov 2-0 (21-12, 21-15) and Japan's Tokiyama Kantai narrowly defeated South Korea's Heo Yoo-hee 2-1 (21-23, 21-14, 21-18). Several other players who competed in the Soup Cup showed fatigue, with Thailand's Quinravut losing 0-2 (17-21, 14-21) to India's Wilma and Wang Gaolun losing 0-2 (14-21, 8-21) to Indonesia's Sugiato Jr.
In the women's singles arena, No. 4 seed India's Sindu and No. 5 seed South Korea's Ahn Hyun-ying both defeated their opponents 2-0 to advance to the next round.
