As the number one seed in the mixed doubles, Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping met the Dutch Taberlinger/Pique in their first match. In the men's singles match, top seed Japan's Kento Momota defeated France's Popov 2-0 (21-12, 21-15) and Japan's Tokiyama Kantai narrowly defeated South Korea's Heo Yoo-hee 2-1 (21-23, 21-14, 21-18).
