In the past 24 hours, there have been 15,145 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany, compared with 10,949 at the same time last week, and 86 new deaths compared to 75 at the same time last week.
Among the German federal states, Thuringia currently has the highest 7-day incidence at 206.3, followed by Bavaria at 163.7 and Saxony at 159. The lowest incidence was in Schleswig-Holstein, at 52.4. In addition to the incidence, the hospitalization rate per 100,000 people in Germany is also rising, at 2.68 at the 22nd, up 0.23 from the previous day.
In view of the rising number of new confirmed cases, German Social Democrat Secretary-General Klingber urged the public to remain cautious. Klingber stressed that the next step of epidemic prevention strategies and measures should be decided by the Bundestag.
For now, whether the "national outbreak status" that began in March last year should end on November 25 has sparked widespread discussion in Germany.
