Jin opera, also known as Shanxi Zizi, originated in the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, produced in central Shanxi, and was popular in Shanxi and parts of Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and Hebei. Together with Shanxi's Pu opera, Jin opera, North Road Zizi and Shangdang Zizi, it is known as the "Four Great Zizi of Shanxi". Because of its gentle and smooth melody, soft and rounded melody, Jin opera has a strong local atmosphere and unique style, and has resounded throughout the land of the Three Jins for hundreds of years. In 2006, Jinqu opera was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
Founded in February 1959, Shanxi Jin Theatre is the largest art performance group in Shanxi. Jin Theater is not only powerful, but also full of famous artists and good dramas. There are Ding Guoxian, Niu Guiying, Guo Fengying, Ji Meilian, Liang Xiaoyun and other generations of masters, as well as Wang Aiai, Ji Ping, Tian Guilan, Ma Yulou, Wang Baochao and other old artists. Jin opera performance art not only wins with singing skills, expresses feelings and shapes characters with large singing voices, but also uses special skills such as wing gong, zi gong, plume gong, hair mouth gong, water sleeve gong and other stunts to express the character image, and the interpretation process is colorful and quite ornamental.
Over the years, Jin opera has repeatedly entered Beijing for performances, setting a record of "nine into Zhongnanhai", and has won the "Five One Project Award" of the Central Propaganda Department and the "Wenhua Repertory Award", "Golden Disc Award", "Plum Blossom Award" and other major awards of the Ministry of Culture. Shanxi Jin Opera House is the protection unit of the national intangible cultural heritage representative project "Jin Opera".
Zheng Qiang: Male, a national first-class actor of Shanxi Jin Theatre, a member of the Chinese Dramatists Association, a director of the Shanxi Dramatists Association, and a famous Jin opera performance artist.
