——The return and reengineering of the Yongle Canon
When: August 5 - November 15
Venue: Guangdong Provincial Zhongshan Library Area C, Minus 2nd Floor Special Collection Exhibition Hall
Recommended reason: "Yongle Canon" is the largest book in ancient China. This vast compilation of volumes is rich and exquisitely arranged, but it is also ill-fated and repeatedly devastated. The dispersal and aggregation of the Yongle Canon is a microcosm of the cause of the protection of ancient Chinese books in modern times, and it is also a clear proof that "the cultural movement is related to the national fortune, and the cultural context is connected with the national vein".
The exhibition is supported by the ancient books and related collections of the Zhongshan Library of Guangdong Province, and is composed of five units: "The Great Canon of Yongle Juju", "The Combination of Ancient and Modern Times", "The Long Reading of vicissitudes and regrets the Fu Quan", "The Transformation has been Annihilated and Reappeared", and "The Pearls Return to the Shadow and Return to Hui Xuelin", which vividly and informatively shows the compilation process, style and content, diaspora and collection, compilation and related achievements, collection, publication and return of the "Yongle Classic". The exhibition selects more than 50 kinds of literature collected by Zhongshan Library, including Ming and Qing Dynasty engravings, rare prints of the Republic of China at the end of the Qing Dynasty, and the Yongle Canon, which is collected by more than ten institutions at home and abroad and photocopied by the National Library Press, etc., and its academic materials and artistic representation are more prominent.
Guoyun Chang is a prosperous cultural transport. The legendary journey of "The Pearl is Still in Hepu" of the Yongle Canon stems from the tireless search of generations of scholars, and relies more on China's growing comprehensive national strength and the emphasis on cultural heritage at the national level. The "Yongle Classic", which condenses the feelings of the Chinese nation, has now crossed more than 600 years of wind and rain to come to the audience, and will continue to show the great charm of Chinese classics, passing on the torch and living forever.
