Morphological characteristics of small warblers, body length of 11 to 12 cm, body shape similar to willow warblers. The upper body is olive green and the lower body is yellow. The mouth is slightly longer than that of other members of the Golden Orbital Warbler species group , with a black upper mouth and a yellow lower beak. The head has golden yellow eye sockets, grey parietal and eyebrow stripes, and black side crown stripes, but olive green to the forehead. The wings have two inconspicuous yellow wing spots, and some individuals have almost no wing spots. The tail is dark brown with olive-green margins, the first and second tail feathers on the outside have white end spots, and the second tail feathers have smaller white end spots. The feet are yellowish brown.
Its habitat is montane broad-leaved forests, bamboo forests, and shrublands, feeding on insects. The call is monotonous and sharp and shorter, and the singing voice changes more. In recent years, new record species, occasionally found in the Taishan Mountains, are speculated to be summer migratory birds. In the past, it was thought to be the Golden-orbited Warbler (S. Thompson). burkii), a subspecies.
