"Tethered" men who can't hold back
Located in the far southwest of Shanghai, Like other fish and rice towns in Jiangnan, there is always a river that meanders through the village, and the villagers have lived by the river for generations to make a living. Jin Chunlei was born and raised here.
In Jin Chunlei's memory, the villagers' food, clothing, shelter and transportation are inseparable from the river, and the treatment of domestic garbage naturally "please" to the river. "When I was a child, the villagers did not have the concept of garbage sorting at all, and there were only two kinds of garbage every day, one was edible, thrown to pigs, and the rest was thrown to the river." In the summer of childhood, Jin Chunlei, who soaked in the river all day, would be scratched by the broken glass bottle at the bottom of the river every three to five minutes.
Even so, the river was largely clear at that time, and nature had its own "digestive system" to slowly dissolve these organic matter. It was not until the modernization process of the village accelerated and the villagers began to use a large number of fertilizers that the river water and even the natural ecology of the village showed signs of deterioration. At that time, Jin Chunlei had already gone out to study and had not swam in the river for a long time.
I don't know if it is related to the "preschool education" in the home of the parents who were tied alone with ropes before the age of three, Jin Chunlei has shown self-control and intelligence higher than his peers since he was a child, and is what neighbors call "other people's children". With outstanding results, he successfully entered Shanghai Medical University (later merged with Fudan University and is now renamed Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University) majoring in pharmaceutical engineering. After some roundabouts, unexpectedly, after reaching middle age, Jin Chunlei's career has settled in his hometown again. He said he was a man of the flow, and everything was in the right place.
Jin Chunlei first did public welfare in his hometown, ran all the difficult families in all the villages in the ten towns of Songjiang, saw the current situation in the countryside with his own eyes, and sincerely hoped to do a "entrepreneurship to drive employment" format.
"Garbage sorting was heard about the year before, but it has been silently concerned." It was not until this year's general environment and policies were more suitable for development that Jin Chunlei decided to try to expand the possibility of this field. Because of the previous working relationship, Jin Chunlei and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Virology Institute, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the virology experts are more familiar, he heard that "Fudan University love degradation bacteria research and development team bacteria can eat wet garbage", feel that it is a direction of development, he took the initiative to dock, and then invited the other party to become their strategic partners.
Jin Chunlei is not the first person to contact the research institute, which has previously found several listed companies to make similar instruments, but they do not meet the corresponding requirements. Coincidentally, in recent years, a large number of foreign-funded machine manufacturing factories have moved away from Songjiang District, leaving behind many design and development personnel and production workers, and Jin Chunlei's own relatives include German-funded factories and Japanese-funded factories. So, he put together two teams of German-funded factories and Japanese-funded factories, spread out the requirements of scientists and discussed them with everyone, and finally he asked: "Can you make such a request?" "Digest" garbage like humans
The "Big Stomach Frog" mimics the human digestive system, with probiotics added inside the machine that can degrade organic matter. The temperature, humidity and dissolved oxygen in the fermentation chamber are automatically controlled by the program, so that the wet waste is rapidly degraded, and finally 96% of the wet waste is converted into heat, carbon dioxide, water and a small amount of gas, leaving a small part of the organic fertilizer. It is based on the principle of biodegradation, if inorganic matter is mixed in the wet garbage, it is not too harmful to the machine itself, and it can be manually and regularly removed from the disposal warehouse.
The "Big Stomach Frog" wet garbage disposal machine carries out the organic fertilizer warehouse every half month to a month, and can collect about 50 kilograms at a time. Under the premise of controlling the source of wet waste, "it can be ensured that the organic fertilizer out of the warehouse meets the standard of green forest." Jin Chunlei said that at present, they have reached a preliminary cooperation intention with a horticultural company to find a "next home" for organic fertilizers.
Turning garbage into treasure as much as possible is Jin Chunlei's goal. Because of this, the material used in the hut where the "big stomach frog" is placed is crushed into powder by construction waste, then pulped, and then built by 3D printing, so as to spread the concept of garbage recycling.
The success of the pilot is expected to be promoted
In June this year, Jin Chunlei's "big stomach frog" made its home in Hujiadai Village, becoming the first wet garbage disposal machine in Niigata Town without any sewage discharge. The "Big Stomach Frog" is designed to have a capacity of 200 kilograms and can consume up to 300 kilograms of wet garbage per day, which is equivalent to the amount of wet garbage generated by the whole village. Before the machine was put into use, the villagers received a unified distribution of point cards, which can accumulate 1 point for every 150 grams of wet garbage, and the points can be exchanged for daily necessities such as facial tissues, dish cloths, toothbrushes and so on.
Along with the scorecards, there are also degradable garbage bags made of corn starch. In this way, villagers do not need to break the bag when putting wet garbage, and can directly put the garbage bag together. It is worth mentioning that corn starch garbage bags can also be exchanged from the machine. Jin Chunlei calculated an account for the villagers, if the villagers took all the wet garbage generated by the family to put it, the three weeks of points could be exchanged for a garbage bag that could be used for one month.
This model has been endorsed by the staff of the town community service center, who believe that the "big stomach frog" wet garbage disposal machine has a certain degree of replicability and is considering extending it to the surrounding villages with similar situations.
In addition to social benefits, Jin Chunlei is also promoting economic benefits at the same time. Data analysis of the pilot for more than a month shows that the "big stomach frog" controlled by the intelligent program consumes about 10 degrees of electricity per day, and the economic cost is not high.
Jin Chunlei envisions that if it can be promoted in the net vegetable production area, there can be higher economic returns. "The vegetable leaves produced every day are transported away by the sanitation company, and the disposal fee needs to be paid. Not only that, Jin Chunlei also intends to make a fuss about the exchanged products. In addition to daily necessities, he plans to introduce handicrafts from the locals of Songjiang to spread the culture of Songjiang, and is also considering the introduction of agricultural and sideline products from poor areas, that is, to let local villagers buy cheap and high-quality products and naturally dedicate a love.
In September, the second-generation machine of "Big Stomach Frog" has been shipped out of the factory and is still being continuously optimized. Once the capacity for mass production is reached, the "big stomach frog" will be promoted nationwide. "We are now in the rural trial operation, equivalent to a high-pressure saturation experiment, the city center of the wet garbage category is relatively small, 'big stomach frog' can be fully competent for the downtown community wet waste disposal, but also to solve the problem of timing and broken bags." Jin Chunlei was confident about this.
