On the evening of the 2nd of National Day, we took a walk with friends after dinner and temporarily went to play in the Four Sides Mountain the next day. The next day the tour will take place.
Although the trip lasted only two days and one night, there were many ways to play. Going up the mountain, going into the water, hiking, insect hunting, waterfall viewing, jungle crossing, very fulfilling.
Look up through the jungle

On National Day this year, the temperature in Chongqing's main city has reached a record high. The first project of this trip was to trace the creek.
Next to the temple of the Flying Dragon Temple on the Four Faces Mountain, there is a small stream that babbles all year round. On the afternoon of the 3rd, after booking the accommodation, we parked the car by the stream and played until the evening.
Crystal clear stream
When we came, there were already tourists dragging their families and mouths in this stream. Whether it's for toddlers or teenagers, mountain streams have a mysterious appeal.
The little ones feel the wonders of nature under the support of their parents, while the older children play water guns in the cool stream water and fish and shrimp and crabs. Under normal circumstances, adults can't help but be full of childlike temptations, take off their shoes and go into the water, and their clothes are wet.
With the passage of time, more and more tourists are three or three. This cheerful stream and the crisp laughter that rise and fall, flowing in the rustling forest...

During this time, a small episode occurred. Adults and children are having fun in the stream, when suddenly the accompanying friend exclaims: There is a snake behind you! In a panic, everyone quickly climbed ashore, but for a moment they did not know where the snake was. Under the guidance of a friend, we saw a snake about 2 meters long, less than two meters away from us.
Friends said it was a water snake. This snake is not afraid of people, and always wants to get closer to the crowd, as if it has a plan. Watching it stand tall with its snake's head, I fled far away for the first time. But the fathers and sons refused to leave, giggling and joking with the snake. All I can say is: maybe that's the difference between men and women. (Of course, I haven't taken pictures of water snakes either.) ）

Before coming to The Four Faces Mountain, I had planned to go to the Black Valley. Just because I heard that there is no accommodation in the Black Valley scenic area, and this is a big drawback for us who like to explore insects at night. Being able to stay overnight in the scenic area is one of the reasons why we finally chose The Four Faces Mountain.
Across the road from our accommodation there was a small view of a green-skinned train. We were here in the summer of 2019, too. Only this time, there were no more lights in the train, and there were no people looking forward to it. As the night grew darker, it was pitch black inside.
After 7:30 p.m., we started night scouting for insects. Walking on the mountain road under the starlight, the textile lady sings at night; the locusts drag the family with the mouth; the crickets and stove horses are endless... It doesn't matter how many you want to catch. Due to the flow of people and traffic, the carcasses of insects on the road are not uncommon.
Walk the mountain roads at night
The first priority of our night expedition was to look for praying mantises. From the residence to the outside of the Shuikou Temple scenic spot, and then turning left from the fork in the road, we walked into a dark road. If you don't turn on the flashlight, even the starry sky can't illuminate even a little bit here.
Soon, Xiao Huihui (son's classmate) found the first praying mantis. The son said it was an adult Chinese mantis. This discovery made us, who had been walking for more than an hour, immediately pick up our spirits.
That's it
Not long after, my husband found the carcass of an adult praying mantis, next to a dead clematis that had been drilled out of the mantis's body and rolled into a ball.
After that, the surprises were great! We spotted a strange frog, yellow and translucent skin dotted with round and striped black spots; motionless in the middle of the road.
The large red ring horse land is two fingers long and one finger thick. Slowly cross the road. The child said that this kind of horse land is poisonous, and if you touch it with your hands, your palms will be red and itchy.

Who would have thought: the drama is still to come!
After 10:00 p.m., we returned to our accommodation exhausted. When she sat down at a table in the courtyard, the female homeowner turned on the chandelier on the canopy. So, under this lamp, there was a gathering of insects!
Here we find more praying mantises than we have done throughout the night expedition; all kinds of crickets, locusts flying onto the table or staying on the ground; and carnivorous bug hunters, nibbling on grasshoppers... There are so many insects to avoid it!
Our vision was greatly satisfied! Finally went to sleep without hesitation. Lying on the bed, my son showed me the step data on the phone watch: 29,082 steps, almost breaking our highest record of 30,000 steps. This time, we had a different experience.
<h1 class="pgc-h-center-line" data-track="69" > viewing the waterfall</h1>
四面山是全国5A级风景名胜区，而望乡台瀑布则是四面山的标志性景点，瀑布高158米，宽48米，是四面山最为壮观的瀑布。
The next morning, we decided to take the children to see the tallest waterfall in China. The car slowly drives along the winding mountain road to somewhere opposite the Wangxiangtai Waterfall, where there is an excellent waterfall viewing point that can be seen from a distance and high above the spectacular view of the entire waterfall.

To reach the Wangxiangtai Waterfall Scenic Spot, we first walked along the river boardwalk all the way to the scenic spot gate, and then climbed the 10-minute steps to reach the foot of Wangxiangtai Waterfall. During the National Day, a new "scream" project was added here, that is, shouting at the huge horn, and the corresponding fountain sprayed the highest winner.
Under the sunlight near noon, the fountain is mixed with the splash of the waterfall to form one rainbow after another, some of which are dark and some are light, and some of the two rainbows are superimposed to form an incomparably beautiful seven-color light.

The only regret is that I was unable to climb above the waterfall this time, and I did not experience the embarrassment of being blown by the rain and wind that fell from the waterfall.

Coming out of Wangxiangtai Waterfall, we headed straight for rock camp rolling stone camp. Both boys were looking forward to an exciting jungle leap.

Arriving at the Rolling Stones camp, the scenery at the entrance is similar to other attractions, and there are many people in the car. I took the two boys to get off the bus first to buy tickets. Unexpectedly, the front desk conductor has been repeatedly emphasizing:
There are only 99 sets of equipment in the camp, all of which have been used up, and now we have to wait for other players to return the equipment;
The camp ends at 6:30 p.m.; even if you buy a kayak + a jungle leap, you may not be able to get on your turn today; (the closing time of the ticket is 7:30 p.m.)
One person, one ticket can only be used on the same day, and will be forfeited after expiration.
"It's speechless." I muttered in my heart. I, who usually never believed in luck, wanted to gamble on luck this time. Without consulting my teammates, I bought two tickets for the most difficult "Red Line High Altitude Experience Line" without authorization, 130 yuan / ticket.
Unexpectedly, when we went out to queue, there were only two children in front of us, and the equipment just ran out of equipment for us. Although I was really puzzled by the conductor's operation, I was happy to watch the two children get dressed and follow the camp coach.
At first I was a little worried. Neither of the boys has a particularly extroverted personality, and they have not played the most difficult aerial project before. The result was much to my surprise:
The children behaved calmly, calmly and humorously from time to time throughout the process;
Treat children who move slowly, children who retreat, are afraid, and cry in the middle, and they both show enough patience;
In the most difficult part, they also bravely challenged themselves and successfully completed the entire experience route. (I roughly counted, and it seemed like there were 12 sessions.) ）
Because my phone ran out of battery, I didn't capture the moment the children took a leap in the air. It was an instant leap full of confidence, ease, and excitement!
