The total length of the ring-striped blunt salamander is 140–180 mm, and the maximum length is recorded at 255 mm. The ring-striped blunt salamander is slender, with a small head and a long tail. The body is dark blackish brown with yellow ring spots. Breed once a year, the breeding season is from September to November, the female lays an average of 150 eggs, and the larvae are metamorphosed. Sexual maturity 2-3 years. It is speculated that the lifespan of the wild ringed blunt salamander can reach 10 years.
