"It was so surprising that today, fishing, actually caught a bird: a duck-like foot pole, a pointed beak, what kind of thing is this?" Mr. Wang, who lives in Baiyun District, Guiyang City, recently went fishing and caught a strange water bird.
The person who caught the water birds was Wang Daming of The Village of Maijia Town, Baiyun District, Guiyang City. According to him, the water bird was caught in his family's pond.
"My pond is more than ten square meters, with some goldfish and small crucian carp, there are also a few big fish, the pond is surrounded by mountains, and there are some lobster ponds nearby." Wang Daming said that at first, he saw something sinking and floating on the surface of the water, and at first, he thought that the fish in the pond came out and bubbled. It wasn't long before the rod was dragged into the water before he realized something had been hooked. It turned out to be a water bird.

"I caught him in my hand and it felt like it weighed only 4 or 2. Very obediently, the whole time without making a sound, he lay quietly on my hand and turned his head to look at me. Mr. Wang said that at that time, his first feeling was that the bird's eyes were very energetic.
Wang Daming said that he had fed cockfighting, and if a fighting cock's eyes could have such a radiance, it would be amazing.
"Probably because the surrounding lobster pond was recently dried up and there was no food, this water bird came to my pond to feed, and happened to be hung by my fish hook." He said.
Considering that wild animals are not easy to feed, Wang Daming took a photo and released the bird. But when the bird returned to the pond, it did not fly away immediately, but spun around the pond until it was gone the next morning.
Some netizens looked at the photos of the birds and thought that Wang Daming may have caught a water duck, some think it is a water chicken, and some people say that it is like a wild cormorant.
Wu Zhongrong, an expert in birds in Guizhou Province and a teacher at the Guiyang Wildlife Conservation Station, said after seeing the photo that it was a small bird.
"It's very common, where there's water, it's possible." Teacher Wu said.
It is reported that the little partridge likes to build its nest in the shallow water grass on the shore of lakes and ponds with aquatic plants, and its chicks can swim in the water on the second day after hatching, and are included in the "List of Beneficial Terrestrial Wild Animals Protected by the State or of Important Economic and Scientific Research Value" issued by the State Forestry Administration of China on August 1, 2000, which is a widely distributed and large number of common water birds. However, due to environmental reasons, its population has decreased, and attention should be paid to protection.
