In 2018, she chose to teach at The Shadi Township Junior High School in Enshi City. "The school has only one teaching building, we live in a dormitory with the students, turn on the tap and come out of the yellow water." Tang Shan recalled that the conditions at the school at that time were worse than she expected. But after the first class, she was more determined in her choice, "The classroom curtains are transparent, and I can't resist the still poisonous sunlight in September, but the students sit on the wooden lacquered desks and chairs, reading and taking notes carefully, which reminds me of the scene of my schooling, and I want to become a teacher like Teacher Wu who changes the fate of students even more." ”

Tang Shan teaches Chinese and politics at school, and she likes to talk to students about her daily routine during the day. At night, Tang Shan often left the office last, and she was laughed at by her colleagues as "putting her home in the office." She said, "I always feel that there is still a lot of work that has not been done." Although he is also in Enshi City, Tang Shan rarely goes home, "It takes nearly 5 hours for me to go home, so it is better to spend time on work." ”

Accompany students to grow up with heart

Tang Shan likes to stay with students and likes to take pictures of them. "They like to call me 'Sister Shan', looking at them is like seeing their former selves, I want to accompany them to grow." Tang Shan said that she walked into the hearts of students and had two great tricks.

The first is to encourage students to write weekly notes, and each one is carefully corrected. At the beginning, the students did not write well, the enthusiasm was not high, she built a book corner in the classroom, so that children can improve their writing level through reading; she also built a WeChat public account, taking the lead in writing weekly notes, records and students' stories. Slowly, the Chinese in the class ranked at the top of the grade, and she could also understand the confusion of students' learning life from the weekly notes and communicate better.

In the first semester of the first year, Tang Shan sorted out the students' essays with Zhou Ji, compiled them into a book, and wrote blessings to send to the students. "Students are very happy to see it, they didn't expect so many of their results." Tang Shan recalled.

The second trick is home visits to get to know each of their students. Tang Shan is not the class teacher, but she often takes the initiative to visit the home with the class teacher and walks the surrounding mountain roads all over the place. In late May, she went to the homes of five students to visit, "I haven't seen students for a long time, and when I visited home, I saw Xiang Kui standing in front of the fireworks shop counter doing homework, and I felt very kind." ”

Last year, Tang Shan was selected as one of the 100 in the country and 2 in Hubei in 2019. It gives her the opportunity to see a broader world of education and to be exposed to more famous teachers and educational concepts.
