On October 22, the Wuhan Municipal People's Procuratorate established the Intellectual Property Prosecution Office, and in the future, the procuratorial organs will strengthen communication with intellectual property administrative departments, public security organs and adjudication organs, build a integrated intellectual property protection work model, and provide "whole-process" protection for the prevention and control of intellectual property risks of market entities.
As a "standard" to help the construction of a law-based business environment, procuratorial organs should provide "one-stop" and "package" services for intellectual property rights for all kinds of enterprises. According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Procuratorate, from January to September this year, the city accepted a total of 37 cases of 58 people for infringement of intellectual property rights, 38 cases of review and prosecution of 63 people, and the number of cases accepted for review and arrest and review for prosecution increased by 640% and 72.73% respectively over the same period last year, an increase of 54.55% and flat compared with the same period in 2019. The specialization of intellectual property cases and the centralization of jurisdiction have brought many new situations and new challenges, which require procuratorial organs to continuously improve their functional allocation and institutional settings, and promote the standardization, specialization and integration of intellectual property prosecutions.
In order to do a good job in the protection of intellectual property rights, the Municipal Procuratorate has set up a "procuratorial think tank" set up by more than 20 people, including law professors, technical investigators and special procurator assistants, to help solve the "difficult and complicated diseases" in intellectual property cases.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Wuhan Municipal Procuratorate, the technical investigators hired this time are from the China (Wuhan) Intellectual Property Protection Center, the Hubei Center for Patent Examination Cooperation of the Patent Office of the State Intellectual Property Office and other units, and will assist in handling cases by entrusting inspection and appraisal and hiring professionals with specialized knowledge, and will pool their wisdom to solve professional problems in intellectual property cases. The special procurator assistants are from the Municipal Intellectual Property Office and the Intellectual Property Research Center of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, assisting in carrying out highly specialized procuratorial auxiliary affairs such as inquiries, inquiries, inquests, inspections, appraisals, and collection of evidence materials.
At the scene of the event, the Municipal Procuratorate, the Municipal Intellectual Property Office and the Municipal Publishing Bureau also signed a cooperation agreement on the Implementation Opinions on Strengthening the Linkage between Administrative Law Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights and Criminal Justice, accelerating the construction of an operating mechanism for the organic connection and complementary advantages of intellectual property administrative protection and criminal justice, refining the standards for the collection, fixing, review and application of evidence in cases of intellectual property infringement crimes, formulating case-handling guidelines, and promoting the unification of intellectual property administrative law enforcement standards and judicial adjudication standards.
