Classics are about to return to the "Twin Peaks" character TOP20 rankings

After many years, David Lynch's work "Twin Peaks" will officially return on May 21, and the story of the new season will be based on the first two seasons and the prequel film "Twin Peaks: Walking with Fire". The following is the top 20 ranking of "Twin Peaks" characters.

Classics are about to return to the "Twin Peaks" character TOP20 rankings

Josie Packard (Chong Chen), Dr. Jacobi (Ruth Tamberlin), Ed (Everett McGill), Norma (Peggy Lipton) and Nadine (Wendy Robin)... Unfortunately, some of them are not included in the top 20 list of Twin Peaks characters by the official report of The Hollywood Reporter ("THR").

Maybe it's not a sad thing for Nadine, but everyone else is different! We hereby express our sincerest apologies. In David Lynch and Mark Frost's surreal series, many of the actors have performed really well, and there are even more than 200 actors in the upcoming season of Showtime. Picking out the best 20 from so many characters is undoubtedly a difficult and difficult thing to reconcile.

The first consideration is the author's taste, and if it is different from the author's taste, it is that these characters must be more resonant to the audience than others. In this case, if their story is not satisfactory enough, even the main characters, such as Catherine Matell (Piper Laurie) and James Hurley (James Marshall), have not been pleasant in their first two seasons. Similarly, there are characters who, despite not appearing much, are iconic, or they have particularly touching performances, or even just because they have been and have been the source of nightmares for many years, they will also appear on the list.

Before the latest season of Twin Peaks officially lands on Showtime on Sunday, let's take a look at the final rankings.

20. The Log Lady E. Coulson)

Everyone may not have paid attention to Twin Peaks over the years, and if you have paid full attention to the series, it is easy to recognize this strange character - if only because she has contributed a lot to halloween costumes over the years, then don't mention The attire of Wyndham Earl (Kenneth Wels) at the "Miss Twin Peaks" competition.

19&18, The Horn Brothers (Richard Bemel and David Patrick Kelly)

Truth be told, Ben and Jerry don't appear in the earliest version of this ranking, but they often appear at key moments in the story to ease tension with a grotesque joke between brothers.

17. Sarah Palma (Grace Zabriski)

Classics are about to return to the "Twin Peaks" character TOP20 rankings

Sarah, the mother of the miserable family, is a soy sauce character, but Zabriski's heartbreaking performance in the first few episodes of the first season allowed her to be included in the list, and her howls show unimaginable grief to the fullest.

16. Gordon Cole (David Lynch)

I don't know what language to use to describe the beautiful voice of this character, but he is right here anyway.

15. Tommy "Hawke" Hill (Michael Holth)

As the most capable character in the series, Hawke is intimately connected to the spiritual dimension of Twin Peaks, filling in the gaps of Cooper (Kyle McLachlan) in some of the film's most mysterious and gripping secret societies, including the Black and White Cabin. He was also one of the rare characters to appear in the trailer before the show actually returned, and arguably just looking at his photos can imagine the excitement of the new season.

14. Andy Brennan (Harry Goetz)

Like other Twin Peaks characters, Agent Andy is in line with the author's taste. It takes some time to not look at Andy like Agent Rosenfeld (Miguel Verre), thinking that he is as unlucky as a dog, and to see his sensitive heart, who is not always keen on his work. Like the Horn brothers, he is a concoction to this dark series, and his antics ease the tension of the work.

13. Lucy Moran (Jimmy Robertson)

Another inductee who belongs to the category of "author's taste" is also a very important role from the viewing experience of "Twin Peaks". She appears in the trailer for the new season like Hawke, and her brief appearance evokes an unbridled wind of nostalgia, and it's hard to imagine what it would be like when we heard her cold voice again.

12. Denise Bryson (David Duchonny)

Before it was Fox Mudd, then it was Denise Bryson... Before it was Denise, then it was Dennis. The character of "X-Files" actor David Duchchni in "Twin Peaks" was a transgender federal agent, which was undoubtedly ahead of its time. There are many voices about this character, but few are true. Although only briefly appearing, the character is the highlight of the bleak second season.

11. Albert Rosenfeld (Miguel Vere)

If Agent Cooper is a pure optimist, Agent Rosenfeld is the complete opposite of him: super powerful, but cynical. That said, he's a bit cynical... Well, we let him finish his thoughts: "In fact, in the struggle against violence, I am the one who contradicts and carries out vicious attacks. I'm proud that I'll take that punch and be happy to take another because I want to live in a world like 'Gandhi and the King'. My concerns are global. I am opposed to absolute retaliation, aggression and counterattack. The basis of the solution is love. I love you, Sheriff Truman. "It is indeed a strange and arduous road. More difficult, Miguel Fohr died in early 2017, and despite this, he will still appear in the latest season, which was filmed before his death.

10. Giant (Karel Strukhan)

"It happened again." A key character in Twin Peaks, and perhaps the most tragic of beings, is always on the scene before Agent Cooper at the most critical moments. Interestingly, his human rival, a room attendant in the Great North, is likely to be the longest-standing member of the series. These are also two reasons why he ranks so high, not to mention his crucial connection to the great supernatural myths.

9. Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook)

We can sit down and take a closer look at why the misunderstood character has such a share in the trailer, including his tearful reaction to hearing his father's proud vision of their peaceful future. (Sorry the role of Dad Briggs can't be in this ranking because it's not worth it.) Still, we'll remember that Bobby barked like a junkyard dog for a night during the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station vigil, which is a good memory.

8. Donna Hayward (Laura Flynn Ball)

The murdered Best Friend of Laura Palmer, James Hurley's later girlfriend, is arguably the most emotionally emotional character in the first season, while experiencing the pain of losing her best friend and falling into the fall of love. In the movie Twin Peaks: Walking with Fire, Moira Kelly replaced Bauer in the role, but the two actresses refused to star in the latest season, and maybe there will be a third actor to play this charming role?

7. Audrey Horne (Shirley Finn)

Even if Donna doesn't come back, Ben Another (publicly) daughter of Horner will also return to Twin Peaks: Audrey, a character who often wanders through the heart of the story. In part, her connection to Cooper and Finn's whimsical form of acting in the role made her beloved by fans. The latest season, hopefully she will fully recover from the explosion of the second season.

6. A Man from Another Place (Michael J. Anderson)

If this evil arm of talking backwards, dancing smoothly, and eating cream corn doesn't make you have nightmares, then you're really powerful. In our opinion, a man from another place doesn't just win the status of the most feared character in Twin Peaks, which is undoubtedly a remarkable achievement considering his relatively few appearances.

5. Harry S. Truman (Michael Untercairn)

The good news is that many of Twin Peaks characters have returned. The bad news: This doesn't include Sheriff Truman, actor Michael Untercairn, who has retired and refused to star in the latest season. It's a shame, because his transformation as the most enthusiastic sheriff is the highlight of the show. Looking at Cooper, Andy, and Hawke, it's hard to imagine what would happen in the future when they fight against the dark forces without Sheriff Truman's help.

4. Killer Bob (Frank Silva)

In an interview with THR, McLachlan described Lynch's dependence on "happy accidents" as follows: "If something happens by chance, he never flatly refuses, but often welcomes it." And in Twin Peaks, Lynch's happiest surprise was capturing a mirror image of crew member Frank Silva in one shot, and later he starred as Bob, the psycho killer who killed Laura and Lealand Palmer. Lynch's ability to recognize people was later proven, and the character of Bob became one of the most iconic villains in the history of television, not just in Twin Peaks. Silva died in 1995, and it's hard to imagine not seeing him in the new season.

3. Laura Palmer (Shirley Lee)

Obviously, without Laura Palmer, there would be no Twin Peaks. She is the catalyst for the entire play, the source of inspiration for Angelo Badalamanti's creation, and the heart of Walking with Fire. Really, her appearance on this list is completely uncontroversial, and although she doesn't appear on screen much time (she later became Maddie Ferguson in Walking with Fire), she does qualify for that high. Her place on the show is something that Gordon Cole can't shake.

2. Lealand Palmer (Ray Wise)

No actor in Twin Peaks is more emotional than Wise, who is not only Laura's father, but also a deranged killer. As the human puppet most commonly used by Killer Bob, Wise is tasked with unleashing evil fears on countless occasions, from seemingly innocuous song and dance routines to acts that openly confront violence. Wise's astonishing grief erupted throughout the first season, and Lealand's heartbreaking last breath on the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station added a deeper layer to the series' most complex characters. This textbook performance of the suspect was imitated by many people later, such as Fox's "24 Hours" season five. "Twin Peaks" lost its direction after Leland was exposed, which was actually a minor problem, (although it regained its foothold at the end of the second season), but Wise's haunting performance made every sibling dispute worthwhile.

1. Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle McLachlan)

Classics are about to return to the "Twin Peaks" character TOP20 rankings

If Ray Wise's Lealand Palmer represents twin peaks' unsettling point, Dale Cooper represents twin peaks' greatest hope. Lynch, the royal actor, every good coffee, every double P pie, every Piece of Douglas fir, will surprise the audience. Cooper's optimism is what led to the final scene of the series — killer Bob takes control of Cooper, who laughs wildly and smashes Cooper's face into the glass — one of the most devastating endings in television history. With the latest season coming back this Sunday, both Cooper and Twin Peaks have a chance to get things in the right direction, with the best characters at the helm again.
