1. Building direction
The aim of the programme is to produce a group of graduates with visual literacy and a variety of key skills to prepare them for careers in areas such as architecture, landscape, urban design and other cultural enterprises.
The study of architecture begins with an introduction to the basics of the field through design, history, and technology/computation. Helps students understand the diversity of the various graphic, writing, and computational practices that make up the field. Students in the program are required to study two years of public courses, including architectural design, history, architectural techniques, landscape design, and urban planning, before they can choose to specialize in a specific direction.
After the sophomore year, students can choose to further focus their degree by choosing one of three directions: Design or History with Theory or Technology. Students can also choose not to focus on studying courses, but can choose comprehensive professional courses, resulting in more flexibility, which allows for more flexibility to pursue professional or minor courses in other areas of the University of Toronto at the same time, customizing their own degree.

The program offers a wide range of perspectives based on design, arts, and humanities through which students can gain a rich foundation in architecture, urbanism, and the visual arts.
