Xu Yinsheng, honorary life president of the International Table Tennis Federation, Zhang Xielin, former head coach of the Chinese women's table tennis team, and Chen Yiping, chairman of the Shanghai Table Tennis Association, as the keynote speakers of the national ball forum, shared with the audience the development process of the Chinese table tennis team's unremitting struggle and continuous struggle.
Talking about the development process of the Chinese table tennis team in the past 70 years, Xu Yinsheng believes that experience should be summed up in any period: "We often say that the Chinese table tennis captain is prosperous, in fact, we are not a general who always wins. We have experienced lows, we have also been defeated, and it took many years of hard work to fight the 'turnaround battle'. Whether we win or lose, we always have to learn lessons. ”
Zhang Xielin, a national table tennis star who helped the Chinese team win the men's doubles and mixed doubles championships for the first time, recalled the scene at the 31st World Table Tennis Championships. "At that time, Japan was very ambitious as a host, putting the mixed doubles event first, just to win the first gold medal to boost morale. On the day of the competition, the audience was filled with Japanese spectators, and Lin Huiqing and I were not afraid at all, and finally won this first gold medal. ”
As the chairman of the Shanghai Table Tennis Association, Chen Yiping has been deeply involved in the development of mass sports. Talking about the relationship between competitive sports and mass sports, Chen Yiping said, "On the basis of improving competitive sports, it can promote the development of mass sports; at the same time, the popularization and improvement of mass sports can also inject vitality into competitive sports." ”
