On the evening of September 2, the cao yu theater of the Beijing International Theater Center was unveiled with a new generation of talents performing "Sunrise". On September 24, 1956, Beijing Renyi staged "Sunrise" in the Capital Theater, and since then, Beijing Renyi has officially upgraded to a "palace-level theater" because of its exclusive theater. Now, after more than ten years of hard work, the Beijing Renyi Eastward Expansion Project has finally come true, and the new "Sunrise" and the new theater have brought the audience new expectations for this palace-level theater.
The Beijing International Theater Center project is located on the east side of the Beijing Renyi Capital Theater, and the foundation stone was laid on December 27, 2018, and the internal test was started on June 28, 2021. The building takes into account the protection of the old city and the style of Wangfujing, integrates classical aesthetics, and integrates with the surrounding buildings. Next year, Beijing Renyi will celebrate its 70th anniversary, and Beijing International Theater Center will accompany this hall-level theater into the next 70 years...

32,000 glass tiles create the visual focus of the foyer
According to You Yapeng, chief designer of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and designer of Beijing International Theater Center, Beijing International Theater Center adopts the concept of borrowing scenery from classical gardens to integrate the theater and surrounding buildings. The color of the façade is in harmony with the Capital Theatre, and while following the elegant and grand concept, it is also in harmony with the style of the surrounding courtyard, inheriting the art of people and the spirit of Beijing. In addition, an old Beijing-style courtyard has been restored in the theater group courtyard, and its function is being planned.
Entering the hall, the audience can see the highest ice-like glass curtain wall of the domestic theater venue. This wall is 60 meters long and 12 meters high, and is an L-shaped light and shadow curtain wall made of 32,000 glass bricks, which extends the visual space and also makes the light more varied, creating a comfortable and bright environment atmosphere for the audience to stay and rest. At the time of each performance, the curtain wall will be lit up to distinguish the performance space from the public space, forming a translucent lantern-shaped visual focus when the audience enters, enhancing the audience's sense of expectation for the performance, while forming a sense of external dynamics and a quiet internal atmosphere. The dark wood-colored decorative panels were named "Theatrical Wall", and along the wall you can reach the CaoYu Theater and the Renyi Theater in turn. You Yapeng said that the drama wall and the glass curtain wall are in dialogue with the quaint courtyard outside the window and the Beijing-flavored hutong, and a dramatic space full of tension is also formed inside and outside the building.

Zhao Tongfu, vice president of Beijing Renyi, told Beijing Youth Daily that the Caoyu Theater, which can accommodate 700 people, has a "pin" glyph stage composed of a main stage, two side stages and a back stage, with a total area of 1,071 square meters and a main stage area of 630 square meters. Although the whole stage is as large as the stage of the Capital Theatre, the scientific and technological content is much higher.
Liu Yun, director of the Comprehensive Office of Zhejiang Dafeng Industrial Co., Ltd. Beijing Branch, unveiled the stage machinery and equipment of the theater: the rear stage contains a horizontal platform and a hidden drum turntable, which can accommodate four different scenes at the same time, realize the free positioning and rotation inside and outside, use the screen to divide, every 90 degrees can represent spring, summer, autumn and winter, and complete the scene switching in a very short time. The stage height is 21 meters, the stage is 9 meters high, and the width is 14 meters, which are the standards of professional drama stages. The stage depth is 17 meters, which is more than 3 times that of the Capital Theater, and the 10 groups of car platforms hidden below will realize the spatial transformation of multiple dimensions of "pushing and pulling", "lifting" and "rotating" for the stage. The main lifting platform can reach 14.5 meters above the stage, and there are 73 dual-purpose light poles and professional light poles, providing a rich artistic presentation space for stage installations. The front stage area uses advanced large spiral jacking technology, set different heights, according to the needs of the repertoire, to achieve professional orchestra pit, extended stage and expand the audience seat three functions, to maximize the needs of the performance. The functional innovation of these stage spaces has given more inspiration and possibilities for the artistic exploration of Beijing Renyi, and also provided superior stage conditions for future performance exchanges at home and abroad.

The audience seats of the Cao Yu Theater are divided into one-story pool seats, two-story seats and one-story side towers. Seat spacing, the elasticity and thickness of the sponge are all customized. Xin Penghong, director and deputy general manager of Beijing Renge Technology Co., Ltd., which provides audio equipment for the theater, introduced: "The theater of Renyi must not be the most luxurious, but it must be the most professional in the field of drama. ”

At the top of the auditorium, by installing fiber bundles at different depths and angles, the starlight top decoration effect is created, and the brightness of each "star" can be adjusted, bringing a comfortable viewing atmosphere to the audience.

The first audience walked into the Cao Yu Theater
In order to see the new theater and new repertoire, Beijing Renyi Cao Yu Theater's "Sunrise" sold out seven performances on the first day of ticketing on August 24. On the evening of September 2, the first ticket-buying audience entered the CaoYu Theater, and the glass curtain wall in the front hall of the theater and the dream elements such as the roof full of stars attracted the audience to stop and take pictures.
It is not difficult to see from the ticket face that the ticket face of the Caoyu Theater is slightly different from the Capital Theater, although the main color has not changed, but the pattern of the original ticket of the Capital Theater has become the shading of the new ticket face of the CaoYu Theater, the Capital Theater has been 45 minutes in advance, and the "Sunrise" that starts at 7 pm can be entered from 6 pm to provide the audience with sufficient time to visit.
