Nanfang Daily News (Reporter/Liu Shan Correspondent/Li Zhuying) On April 4, the Shenzhen Red Cross Society held a commemoration of human organ donors. The families of corneal organ donors, major transplant hospitals in Shenzhen, the Red Cross Organ Donation Volunteer Service Team and red cross youth representatives collectively observed silent mourning, bowing and offering flowers under the bright tree of Yoshida Cemetery.
"Mom, I have a lot to say to you, I want to call you, but there is no signal in heaven." At the scene, Gong Zheng, the son of Zhong Lina, a donor of the wordless gymnastics, expressed his thoughts for his mother, "I can only read the previous WeChat chat records, look at your photos and videos, and recall your bits and pieces when you were alive." ”
Zhong Lina, who grew up in a military family, learned that she was suffering from leukemia, and she told her family that she hoped that at the end of her life journey, she could still relay her life. On December 18, 2020, Zhong Lina's family complied with her last wishes and donated her body for medical research.
"In the torrent of life, death is not only the end of life, but also the relay and continuation of life." Zhang Yingji, executive vice president and secretary general of the Shenzhen Red Cross Society, said that during the Qingming Festival, she hopes to use the most beautiful flowers to thank the remains of the corneal organs who restart the joy of life.
According to statistics, as of the end of March 2021, 1242 people in Shenzhen have donated corneas, 552 donated remains, and 536 donated multiple organs.
