Suns correspondent Evan Sidery reports that the Suns are close to signing Elfrid Payton on a one-year contract.
New York Post reporter Marc Berman confirmed that point guard Elfrid Payton is likely to sign for the Suns.
Payton Jr., a No. 10 pick in 2014, was traded briefly by the Magic to the Suns, averaging 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the Knicks last season.
Due to poor form, Payton Jr. dropped out of the rotation in the playoffs and played a total of 13 minutes.
